Goals-Achievements-Set-Backs/ Mon or Tue since we're so late

Well it's a bit late, but here we are, so let's make this Mon or Tue.

My goals today were to stay away from 'white' as much as possible and to work out.  I did pretty good at work, but that's mostly because my receptionist got a call about her daughter being sick and had to go pick her up and I became the receptionist so my day was CRAZY, lucky me!

As far as working out, I've worked out the past 4 days straight so I am so happy about that!  Today I put the summer flowers in the compost, put the cushions away for the season and stacked wood for about 20 min's, so good for me, I got a bit of a work out in today!

How are you all doing?  Has day light savings hurt or helped you?

Today was a very quiet day and I felt hungry all day and just wanted to eat. I did manage not to and have walked 10,200 steps so far with another walk planned for about 8 PM. The dog needs to go out before bed! I guess I'm just tired after the 20,000 steps yesterday and it was rainy all morning and the high was 49 instead of 65 so really didn't want to do anything. I have been able to keep from eating at night for 3 nights in a row and plan on making it 4 tonight. I want it to be such a habit that I can ignore the cravings and not give in.

Thanks for getting this started tonite Edie. I usually can't get on the computer until around 7pm (West Coast Time), and I was just getting ready to start the thread when I saw that you had it going. So thanks for that! We don't want to let this lapse so early on.

Today my goal was to walk around the building where I work during my break and my lunch. And I did it twice at each break. What was disappointing was that it wasn't as "BIG" as I thought it was. Total for 4 laps was only 1500 steps. Not the gazillion steps I thought it would be, but at least I did walk it. I achieved todays goal....yeah!! (Total steps, per the pedometer, for the day was only a little over 7,000).

Tomorrows Goal is to do the same 4 laps, but maybe walk around the inside of the building once or twice. I am a bookkeeper so I spend a great amount of time each day sitting, but an occasional stroll to say hi to the shop workers will be a nice change of pace.

My big setback was I discovered 4 pretzels in my desk drawer, and you guessed it, I ate them all! I just start to crave the salty things when I am sitting at my desk.

Anyone have any suggestions for crispy, salty stuff to munch on at my desk?

See you all tomorrow,
Fran

I failed at not eating any white sugar, I had a mini Milky Way and a mini Peanut M&M at work. I wanted more and struggled about it all day! Had a huge mug of hot tea Sweet orange to help and it did. I just had another mini Milky Way. The neighbor brought her left over Milk Ways for my daughter last night. They are gone now; whew! Otherwise I had 1800 calories but burned 800 so not too bad and over 100 gms of protein!
I took all my vitamins and one dose of my calcium; I will try for two doses tomorrow.
I wanted to run today I kind of met that goal. I did an hour of zumba then took my daughter and her friend to the Y I walked a .25, jogged a .5, walked a .25 jogged a .5 and then walked a .75 at 4 mph and an incline of 4. The backs of my thighs are cramping terribly when I run.
I did not really notice the time change so not sure it has had any effect.
Goals for tomorrow are vitamins including calcium, no white carbs, and at least a walk tomorrow.

, but actually how about a , you came on here and asked for help and that's the first step.

So let's work on the vitamins, you know you've got to do them, why are you not?  Are you forgetting, don't like the taste......what?  How can we help you get that back into your routine.  I don't remember what type of surgery you had, but you know it's important or you would not have come on here and asked for help.

As far as the crap, that's a tough one, I have a problem with that too, what I try to do is not bring it into the house, you know out of sight.... as far as at the office, I have a fat pic of me at my desk, if I have to go into the kitchen to get something to drink I look at that pic first to remind me what all that junk on the table did to me in the past.

HTH,

Honestly I just forget.  I'm one of those out of sight out of mind people!  If I put my blood pressure medicine in the cabinet instead of out by the coffeemaker I forget to take that too! :-P

The eating crap is just laziness. I need to keep easy to eat snax around.

I pre-pack my vitamins in ziploc baggies.  I do 21 days at a time, then I just need to grab and go, maybe something like that would help you if you put them by your coffee so when you go to make your coffee in the morning you just have to grab a baggie and go.

As far as the snacks, preparing easier healthier snacks is defiantly what helps me the most, then they are right at hand, no excuses, well not good excuses  anyways :).

I  LIKE that vitamins in a baggie idea.  That way I could put a couple of bags in my work bag.

I keep one bottle each of my multi vits, magnesium, calcium, stool softener, and B-12 sublingual  at work and the other bottles at home. I ahve trouble when I take vacation and on weekends remembering to get all my vits in. All of my stuff is low cost so it i snot a huge investment to buy two bottles at a time. I use Trader Joes Multi Vit (chewable) and B-12. The others I get at Rite Aid; they frequently have buy one bottle get the other free. Calcium is now my exception. I am trying the powdered with Vitamin D from Bariatric Advantage; tastes like Lemon Pledge.
Keeping crap out of the house is a great idea, I do that fairly well. It is work that trips me up!
