Maybe TMI but ? on stomach gas
Hi everyone, I am 17 month post op Lap Band. For the past six months or so, I have been too tight. I gradually began to eat the same things every day because the food would go down (oatmeal breakfast, soup with grated cheese for lunch, and some type of cheese (e.g. Brie, or other soft cheese) plus veggie chips for dinner. I did not lose weight, have maintained for over six months...and so the lightbulb finally went on, and I went back finally to my surgeon who loosened the band so I can eat appropriately. That was earlier this week. For the past few days I have been eating "normal" food for bandsters (eggwhites, melba toast, turkey burger, little bit of salad, some veggies, and lean protein for dinner, some fruit).
Anyway, I am chewing things real well, and eating slowly. But OMG the gas - it is keeping me up at night, it is so bad. This is NOT the referred shoulder pain gas -- this is "what stinky thing did you eat because you are killing your family who are sitting next to you" type of gas.
Could my digestive system, being accustomed to non-rough food and no veggie/fruit consumption for like six months unless it was in a smoothie, be re-adjusting itself? Any tips on how to alleviate this?
I am happy I am on the road to eating properly again - but this gas is making me rethink things lol. Just kidding.
