I was up early making chili for the competition at work so at least have an excuse to be up that early! I registered for mild chili but when I finally tasted it, I realized it's more of a high side of medium heat...So it's definitely in the competition. BTW...I need a new crock pot..this one is totally worn out from too many competitions! I better add it to my christmas list.

5:00 am 1/4 serving protein waffles, 1 microwaved apple, 1/3 serving sugar free syrup

6:00 am 12 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss

6:30 am 12 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss

7:00 am 24 oz Drink Mix, GV Strawberry

I started out with the crock pot of chili in the trunk but stopped twice to check it. I finally figured I better put it in the backseat where I could watch it or I'd never make it to work at all!

8:15 am 1 oz mozzarella cheese stick, 1 pc turkey breast deli meat

8:45 am 12 oz Coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss

10:00 am 1 plum

11:00 am 24 oz Drink Mix, Lipton Mandarin Mango Tea

12:15 pm 2 cups home made chili con carne with beans .. actually several different ones but I liked mine the best so I ate a whole cup of that. Burned my tongue and needed some (5) saltine crackers..I should be healed up by tomorrow, I hope! And I won a prize for most unique chili..The name of the chili was "Nothing Fancy" so it was a joke to get unique..LOL. the chili that won was white chicken chili..it was YUMMY.

1:45 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, Power Edge Wild Berry Caffeinated (after all those carbs at lunch, this was mandatory!)

4:00 pm 1/2 cucumber raw

4:30 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, Lipton Raspberry Ice Tea

6:00 pm 2.5 oz tilapia, 1/3 cup canned lima beans, 1/4 cup mashed potatoes with 1/2 T margarine..I'm STUFFED!

Totals for the day:

Calories: 1355
Fat: 47.3
Carbs: 139.7
Protein: 108.6

Now I call that a win from top to bottom..I can have a cookie later and I think I might! Protein is at 31%, carbs are at 39%, fat is at 30%..

How did you do?

Isn't that amazing how the calories just add up? But the protein was really good..Still, you usually expend more calories than you take in so today was a buy..

I'm having trouble getting my calcium in. I know I need it. In the evenings I get leg cramps and I'm sure that's what it is..I skip my calcium in the morning cuz I really need my coffee but later in the day I forget..I need to work on that..I need another container of it at work so if I realize I've skipped it or forgotten to bring it, I can fix it..I'll set that up right now!

Keep up the good work. Do you have a treadmill? I see where the weather up there is horrible just now.

See ya.

What calcium do you take? I just got off the phone with my providers nurse. My bone scan results are in and they want to see me. I knew I had thinnning in my hips three years ago. I was supposed to rescan last year but didn't.
I must not be absorbing it. I guess I will have to do sometning different. I have the pwder but hate it. The chews are so expensive but I guess I should just suck it up and order them.

The weather is awful! No treadmill had one before bypass never used it; imagine that! I am at the YMCA 4 days a week with DD for her dance classes so will just have to learn to love the treadmill; maybe download some new songs on the IPOD Shuffle.

Citrical Calcium Citrate. I lean toward the generic but I watch all my levels. If anything drops at all, I'm upping that and we re-check it in January. I take a generic D-3 along with that. My D was dropping low in July so that's why I added the D. They did a bone scan on me last year..nothing to compare it to so I'm jus****ching my levels. I took BOTH kinds of Calcium for over a year..calcium citrate and calcium carbonate chews..

Yeah, the treadmill sometimes is better than outside..cuz of the falling hazard and if you have thinning bones..not a good combo.

I was doing well until about 4 and I started binging and dumped again. I can't believe i'm such a glutton. I feel so stupid my one year is tomorrow, and I still lose control of myself like this. I've lost 250+ pounds. you would think I  learned something.

I've been going to OA and therapy.  I hope I can stop this binge monster. He likes to eat a lot!!!!

Does your health insurance have wellness program or your empoyer? Health Coaches are often utilized by inssurenaces and companies. health coaches are very helpful with one on one coaching for people.
It is great you are going to OA and therapy. Keep going! Today was one day; start fresh tomorrow. Get moving; those exercise endorphins are addicting!

Really the reasons for over eating and binging were there before surgery and they are still there after surgery. Mary had very good advice, you really do need a health coach or someone to guide you through this period. Professionals can help you more than we can. We can only sympathize and offer suggestions..

What happened at 4 pm you should be able to recognize it and focus on that issue..When things get really stressful, get up and walk away. At least walking is a plus. Soon after surgery I experienced stress and wanted so badly to reach for cookies that are ALWAYS around here at the office. That's when it hit me that I had a problem. You really have to do SOMETHING when the stress issues get to that level..

I have a sign on my desk that says "Handle every stressful situation like your Beagle. If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away." That makes me laugh but it also reminds me to walk away. Not for a year but just for a minute while you gather your strength and can say no..

I've used this so many times. At least you made it to 4 pm..that's a definitely plus. Work it! It will work..See ya.

Thanks. I'm going to look into the health coach today. I think it's a great idea.
