I have arthritis and i was given celebrex which helps, but I had my yearly check up with my WLS surgen yesterday and he said not to take it isn't good for our stomachs. so i was wondering if anyone else was in the same boat.

I have arthritis in my knees, and had to give up NSAIDS when I had my gastric bypass. I use tylenol for pain, and I also regularly attend a YMCA warm water arthritis exercise class. If you have not tried it, see if you can find a Y with the program running - it's nothing short of miraclous!

But bad weather and behavior sometimes gives me the achy knees, and I have found that grinding an aspirin into fine powder, then adding several drops of warm water and then a few drops of olive oil makes a very soothing paste that, when rubbed onto the aching area, gives surprising relief w/o passing through my pouch.

But I highly recommend finding an Arthritis water exercise program

I need to take nsaids because my knees are so bad. that's why I've chosen the vertical sleeve. that's the one wls that they say it's ok to take nsaids. my doctor says that she's rather if I didn't take them but I can if needed.
I'm still preop.
