How did that work for you Becky? Did you start to lose again?
For the first two years after RNY, food is malabsorbed and the weight comes off and stays off due to that. By the end of the second year you will have achieved your lowest BMI since surgery.
After two years the body learns how to absorb food again. Most people will gain 20 pounds during year three. By year three the rubber ha**** the road and the only way to lose more weight or to maintain what was lost is to count calories and exercise.
What sucks is that we have lost weight so easily, gone back to eating what we did before and for a while continued to lose or at least did not gain. I am trying very hard to be the exception to the rule. I am going to Weigh****chers, going to the gym and tracking every bite. But it is really hard after the last year of being able to eat whatever I wanted with no gain,
