Hi everyone,

I am about to see a plastic surgeon for some excess skin that has been around for 4 years now.  There are some hygenic issues associated with it and also its putting additional weight on an area that has some nerve damage near my rib.  Has anyone had insurance cover plastic surgery for a medical reason?

I went to Dr. Laurence Rheingold He performed anchor cut tummy tuck and I had breast reduction and lift.  He is amazing and I highly recommend him.. He is located in Boston area Wareham Area and Cape Cod.  He is one of the top 10 Surgeons in Massachusetts... Good Luck..  My insurance covered everything ... I opted for anchor cut tummy tuck instead of panni removal.. the out of pocket cost was $3500.
Best Wishes   Natalie

Usually for insurance to pay they must see medical necessity.  Document and take pictures of rashes.  Keep records of medical visits and medications used to treat symptoms.  Take everything to the plastic surgeon and ask them to work with you to obtain insurance coverage.
