My 9 yr anniversary is around the corner!!!
I am almost 9 yrs out & have had nothing but success!!! I had a 2nd chance at life, I have not regretted this decision once! I can eat anything & at this point I dont even feel I have had surgery, I eat the amoutn of food people are supposed to eat in a serving size. I have stayed the same weight, I maintain a healthy weight at 135 no matter what I eat. My husband passed way a 4 months ago & I lost 20 lbs fast at that time but I wasnt eating anything!!! I didn't have a problem getting back the 20 lbs, my body likes this weight & so do I.
Time flies!!! I hope you all have a happy & healthy journey!

Glad to hear from you! Congrats on your success.
I'm sorry to hear about your husband. Stress eating turned into stress starving for you...it does for me too.
Keep living life. That's all any of us wanted and are working towards..

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Your success at maintaining is encouraging - and that you still feel healty 9 years out!!!
I'm so sorry about your husband. I think Dawn's point about stress eating changing to stress 'not eating' is interesting. I've been going through a lot of stress - and still struggling with wanting to soothe with food - especially carbs. They don't make me feel better anymore - and in fact make me feel worse - but I haven't quite hit that tipping point yet where I really seem to accept that food won't make me feel better. I'd guess that soon enough - the memories of feeling awful after eating will overlay the memories that food made something better.
Anyway - thanks for sharing.
