HELP... Gained 15 pounds and I'm scared to death
I hear you..............Chris it's gonna be okay! I'm in the same predicament only I've gained 28lbs since my lowest wt 141lbs Jun 07! I am going back to BASICS, allow your pouch to adjust again IT WILL I PROMISE....start with liquids, broths, water protein shakes you remember, just like the early days, then increase the texture just like before. There is a fab book available I ordered it online The 5 Day Pouch Test by Kaye Bailey, if you haven't already read it, GET IT NOW I have! WE CAN DO THIS! - Jan
Oh my gosh- what helpful info. I'm also struggling. I haven't been weighing myself as i should. Got on the scale today. 5 pounds up. Not to mention I haven't been on this site in ages!
Went into the kitchen for breakfast- kinda stood there for a minute- thinking what in the heck should i be eating.
i've been grazing lately and eating too many carbs..............................
Good to know i'm not alone. I also would like the soup recipe. And what is a 5 day pouch test???

You may go to www.5daypouchtest.com. I haven't ordered the book, but all the basics are on the website. Of course, this website also provides invaluable information and resources. I've really been trying to increase my water intake as well, which helps fill us up & burn calories, I hope. You can do it--we can get back into step. Look at how well we've done. Even though I am down from 285 pounds, there are days now that I feel like I've gained it all back! It's just a day by day thing, isn't it? Take care of yourself, and try not to beat yourself up (I'm trying to do the same). Let me know how you're doing!
Anyone out there can tell me how to set up that ticker thing do it shows my beginning of the journey? I've backdated it to June 2006, enter that weight & date, enter my low weight & date in August 2006, and entered my current weight/date. Can't seem to get it set up right. Thanks!!!!

www.5daypouchtest.com was a website someone suggested to me that has a cookbook you can purchase with lots of soup recipes. I think I am gonna order some of the stuff on that site as well.
Good luck.
Chris
Good luck.
Chris
I LOVE this site and all of you for encouraging me. I felt so alone when I posted several days ago and now I realize that what I am going through is "normal". Wish I hadn't let it happen but it did and now its time to get "back on track". It's nice to know that I am not the only one in this boat.
I have upped my water intake (from basically nothing) - cut out the snacking (no more cracker sleeves for me...) trying to limit my coffee in the mornings (2 - 12 oz cups per day, which is still alot, I know) - drinking the protein shakes for at least one meal... I haven't ordered the book, the 5 day pounch test, but I think I will even though all the info is on the site. Kinda feel like I want to do something for the lady that posted that site to help us all out in our situation.
I weighed this morning and I am down 3 pounds (161.9) since my "light bulb moment" a week or so ago. I wi**** was more but like someone said - we are NORMAL people now, we will lose like everyone else or possibly slower (didn't like to hear THAT truth but...)
Thanks again for ALL the support and please keep it coming. It is so nice to not be alone in this boat!!
Have a super Labor Day Weekend,
Chris

Chris: How are you doing? I'm not following the program as intended, but since my medication was changed, I have been able to make some better choices--down about 5 pounds (to 166). I would be happy to lose 10 more pounds, estactic to lose 15 pounds. Hope all is well with you--interesting that we both reside in a city called Brandon!!
Chris - you sound a lot like me! I tried on a pair of jeans and they were tighter than they should be, so right away I went in to 'no WAY, gotta kick things into high gear again' mode.
I'd almost completely neglected my vitamins, so am getting those back on track and I was barely drinking any water at ALL, and have now gotten back into the habit (thanks to green tea).
Also I've been going to the gym 4 days a week for cardio and weights, about an hour a day.
CONGRATS on that 3 pounds! I haven't been brave enough to look at the scale yet, but I'm sure the changes I've been making are in the right direction, so now I'm just trying to be patient and realize that this is the rest of my life and I'm always going to have to be mindful about this.
Good luck! Hope you enjoyed your cruise
