Accountability - Sunday with an excuse

I did a very stupid thing yesterday. I know I'm allergic to walnuts...know it! and my sister is allergic to macadamias, and almonds so it stands to reason that sooner or later I'll have allergies to all tree nuts. I decided to try eggface's recipe for baked mini donuts..almond meal. I ate a couple of broken ones about 4 pm..not yummy but okay. I coughed some..before bed, I ate a couple more pieces, you know, just cleaning up the counter..coughed again. When dh asked why I was coughing I realized I had a scratchy throat..why? That's the same reaction I had to walnuts several years ago and when I decided I needed to do something about the allergies..so..I have a baggie full of almond meal donuts that I can't eat..someone is going to get a profit today..

My eats for sunday:

B: 1/2 serving of protein waffles, sugar free syrup and parkay spray

2B: cheddar cheese omelet and some (a bite) of home fries

L: tuna and black bean salad, Yesterday I figured it was 1/3 cup of each thing and today I ate the rest of it so yesterday was low...

D: a ham sandwich with 4 oz ham, 1 oroweat sandwich thin, mustard, mayo and sauerkraut

and some protein donuts..

Totals for the day:

Calories 1387
Fat: 64.1
Carbs: 89.8
Protein: 125.3

I had five containers of water, all my vitamins (which I'm adjusting a bit) several cups of coffee. Not much exercise but lots of standing on my feet and cleaning. I'm still thinking about aerobics..I know I need to, it's just how to do it.

How did you do?

Allergies are a funny thing. My family is full of food allergies, seemingly. Walnuts and pecans were mine. I started out with just walnuts and realized pecans were effecting me. Then my sister had a bad reaction to macadamias. Her daughter had a reaction to almonds but because we live in the almond capital (used to be, anyway) of California I thought I could skip that..so it's only peanuts for me, I guess. Peanuts aren't really nuts because they grow underground so I guess I'll be fine with those. Sunflower seeds, soy nuts..I can have those too.

Your list is awesome. You did great..isn't walking a flea market the BEST?

keep up the good work. See ya.

I have the recipe for those donuts but haven't tried them.  So, are they worth making?  I know we all have such different tastes so what one person likes, another can't stand.  I love nuts so hope I never develope an allergy to them.

Yesterday I mixed up Chocolate Cottage Pudding which is cottage cheese, milk and SF pudding mix.  I don't care much for cottage cheese so thought this concoction would give me some good protein.  It's not awful but the recipe went in the trash.  Has a weird taste.  Also made Granola Bars.  These are good but could be a little sweeter.  I will put cream cheese or peanut butter on them.  Next time I'll add some Splenda.

Eats yesterday:

Low sugar oatmeal
Click w/almond breeze & 1/2 scoop unflavored protein powder
Cottage Cheese Pudding
Granola bar
Tilapia, spaghetti squash
SF Chocolate Eclair (homemade)

Surely I ate more than that, but I can't remember what.

My message turned up in the wrong place so I deleted it..it deleted from the right place...go figure:

Being allergic to tree nuts is a family thing, I guess. My sister is allergic to macadamias, my neice is allergic to those AND almonds. I was previously allergic to walnuts and pecans...now this..so I knew I could be, I just figured I was better than that, which as we all know, pride can be a dangerous thing.. I guess I should take the family history of celiac disease more serious too but it just bums me out to be restricted on so many foods for so many reasons..wah.

Good think peanuts aren't really nuts! I'd really be messed up! Yeah, I think the donuts are worth making but I'm going to have to adjust the recipe to do whole wheat flour instead of the almond meal..bummer but i bet they're just as tasty.

You're right...short list. But it's a good one. Keep up the good work. See ya.
