I lost 9lbs this week. It's amazing what a little exercise and no grazing will do for me. I hope I can continue on, I need to tweak my eating for more protein, less carbs and fat. One day at a time, one meal at a time.

Wow....9 lbs.!!!  I'm so envious but you are doing what I need to do.  My diet has improved greatly this week with less carbs.  I am not hungry nearly as much but I haven't been able to keep the carbs at 50 or below.

I mentioned to my DH I should go to the gym at 5:30 am but he discouraged me on doing that so I totally agreed with him.  So, I put my walking DVD in the DVD player and intended to get up 15 minutes earlier today and walk with Leslie Sansone.  Didn't happen.

I'll try again tomorrow to make myself get up.

That is very cool...I know, it seems too simple to actually work: calories in and calories out..but for all the years that I figured it didn't work, I'm sure a believer now!
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

CONGRATULATIONS!!
THAT IS A FRICKEN HUGE BREAKTHROUGH!!!
You should be very proud of yourself on several levels b/c you accomplished a lot this week.
1) you concured that grazing thing
2) you added (more) exercise
3) you are aware & mindful of making the right food choices & getting the right balance of nutrients (fat/carb/protein)

Good for you!! Keep up the good work.

The Will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

That is so awesome!  What is your daily menu and exercise plan like?  I am still 40 pounds over goal and have not lost anything significant in months and months, but I do not want to be done at this stage just yet.

I've been posting what I eat on the accountability thread... but my diet many holes in it lol..
I get up @ 5:30AM everymorning because I'm a stay at home mom and that's my only undisturbed time (hubby leaves for work @ 4:30AM & doesn't return until 7PM) and hit the treadmill for a 30min. 300+ calorie workout. If it's hubby's day off I ride my bike at least 6miles which also burns the same cals. for me. I love to run, but I had a broken foot and lots of excuses, so I'm being careful before I hit the concrete. I'm also going to start working in weight training in the next couple of weeks. This is the first real goal I've set for myself, I want to be a my goal weight by April. Good luck to you on your journey...:)

Hey,

congrats on the nine lbs!  I noticed that you and I had the surgery around the same time and I am freakin out because I fear I'm gaining some weight in the stomach area....
I hit the gym again about a month and a half ago and have seen the muscle building!  The weight I gained could be muscle but I am still worried.  The stomach seems to have a little bit more of a roll than I am used to but then again I haven't really worn tang tops till this year.
But...I would love your help...I am starting a no soda rule tomorrow...and need to do without the carbs...ARe you taking any vitamins?  What are you doing at the gym or are you going to the gym?

Thanks! We do have a YMCA membership,I just can't seem to find the time to use it. I'm a stay at home mom of 3. So almost everyday I do a HIT workout on my treadmill @ 6AM. 5AM when school starts, or ride at least 6miles on my bike.I had a broken foot so starting in Sept. I want to start running again. I take 2multi. vit., 1000mcg b12 , 2400mcg biotin, 1600mg calcium, and 65mg iron.
I'm sure I am not the one to give any nutritional advice, I have one diet mtn. dew everyday. But I struggle with grazing, I'll do good for awhile and then fall off the wagon so to speak.
It's great that you're going to the gym and seeing muscle gain, it makes it easier t stay motivated!! Keep up the good work!
