Idea for snacking awareness/band food choice awareness

Ok...this idea came from a psych. who attended our local WLS support group.
Wear a loose rubber band around your arm.
When tempted to eat/make a bad food choice...etc.
Grab the rubber band, pull it, and let go
ZAP!!!
Now...how do we remember to pull the rubberband before we partake?
A string on the finger?
So...what do you all think?

That didn't work for me before surgery...it might work now but what I do is only bring the snacks that I approve of with me in my lunch bag..only bring what I can eat. Now that's not to say that there aren't snacks all over the office and a vending machine but for some reason, I'm really cheap and won't hit the vending machine if I brought stuff with me.

The only thing that temps me are animal crackers and I brought those to work for the rest of the girls because they're better than donuts, regular cookies or bagels and I can have a full ounce of them for 130 calories provided I can spare the carbs. sometimes even when I can't spare the carbs they feel like a dirty little cheat but they aren't.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I think it sounds dumb and I don't know anyone who it's worked for.
