Hi:
I had surgery (RNY) two months ago, and it is working wonderfully... Already lost 40 pounds and still going. Problem is, latelly I am constantly "dumping" and even some foods that first sit well with me will later on cause me to dump. I hate the protein shakes and I looking for ideas of "real protein food" to have, please post here if you have any suggestions.

This is what I ate when I was newly post op. I followed the protein first rule very closely my first year because that is when the weight comes off the quickest

~Yogurt.. when I was that early out, I only ate carb/sugar control yogurt because it's low in carb, calories and sugar. The PLAIN Greek yogurt has great nutritional facts too.

~ Cottage cheese

~ Thinly sliced deli lunch meat rolled w/ RF slice cheese

~ RF String cheese

~ Gordan's grilled fish.. in the freezer section. This is very soft and moist and goes down easy

~ Tuna salad made with FF mayo, lil relish, finely chopped egg

~ Egg beaters

~ Power crunch bar

~ FF refried beans topped with cheese & Taco bell refried beans

~ Finely ground, ground beef or turkey topped with RF cheese & salsa

~ RTD EAS Protein shakes

~ Atkins RTD protein shakes

~ Calorie countdown chocolate milk

~ Chicken did not sit well with me for a while until i tried the already cooked chicken strips in the bag. it is very moist and tender

Good luck and remember take advantage of your first year!!!!!!!!!

Some soft things you can do are sugar free pudding (instant, made with plain soy milk-not vanilla) and add protein powder to it. Either Click or Unjury...both are really good for newly outs who don't find any protein they can stand.

Scrambled eggs?
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Be sure to have your gallbladder checked. Food being okay but backfiring later is more like a gallbladder attack and a lot of the same sorts of foods trigger it as trigger dumping.

I loved the ISOPURE ready to drink (RTD) protein drinks. You can get them at the VitaShoppe & GNC. I think they have about 60g of whey isolate protein. I use to chug those when i was a newbie & they have great flavors too!
