HI
I know all of the answers, UNFORTUNATELY I CAN NOT SEEM TO MAKE THEM WORK.  it has been a while since I have been here. I am so ashamed of myself, I am getting into a huge state of depression. I did wonderful after my surgery in 2005. lost 188 lbs. And then life happened. I am currently back up 80lbs back over 200 and I need help. I dont remember all the liquid  back on track eating and any new suggestions. I am making a new start and I am only going down hill from here. Please send me all of your suggestions. It is hard to look at myself in the mirror anymore. Yes it is bad eating. Sugar, sugar, sugar...carb...carb...help.

P.S.  My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.

I wrote this earlier to another post, but it seems relevent here, so forgive me for being redundant.

You do have all the answers. After losing 188 pounds you know all of the things that you are supposed to be doing. But the hardest part, for me at least, is putting what I know I should do into practice.

I speak only about my own expereince on this, but, the thing that has helped me get back on track more than anything else is going back to Overeaters Anonymous meetings again. I know that 12 step programs aren't for everyone, but it's the best thing I know for getting my head straight when it comes to food.

I know that for myself, I am a food addict and a compulsive eater. Having WLS certainly helps me manage the amount of food I can eat, but it didn't do anything to change what I can eat. The choice of what to put in my mouth is all on my shoulders. I can't make those choices wisely. If I could I wouldn't have gotten to the point where I needed WLS to begin with. So, for me, going to OA puts my head in the right place so I can get my eating in line with the WLS way of eating.

I just know it works for me when nothing else can. Maybe it can help you too.
