Appetite question

I'm about 21 months out from lap-band surgery and over the past few months,  I haven't had any appetite at all.  Nothing at all ever sounds or tastes good to me. I never thought I'd complain about no appetite, but it can be a little frustrating at times.

Is this normal or has anyone else ran into this? If so, what did you do to get past it?

Thanks so much!
Teri

No, you lucky duck, I've never experienced this!

How are you feeling otherwise? Any increased capacity to eat, nausea, reflux, difficulty swallowing? If so, I'd say go see your doctor. If not you might not really have a problem.

The closest I've ever been to expereincing something like is when I'm at the perfect level of restriction. For me that is a magical place where when I'm not hungry I have no interest in food. Then, when I am hungry I'm only interested in eating until I'm not hungry anymore. That is a magical place that I haven't seen in the past 2 years since my son was born. I'm desperately trying to get back there.

Best,
Elizabeth

Now that you ask . . .last week I had a couple times I woke up dry heaving, but just figured it was from what was going around. Everyone seemed to have something similar with vomiting at work. I just didn't have anything to come up.

I don't have an increased capacity to eat and I don't really get the reflux unless I over due the coffee. Then I get the heart burn.  Swallowing is ok. Every now and then I get an ache in the back of my throat, but just figured it was from thirst or lack of.

I just miss the energy & figure it's from the lack of appetite.  Although I still do more now than I did when I would pig out!  (Before surgery)

haha - boy do i remember those days... & WISH that were the case now!
I use to have to remind myself to eat. you wouldnt think that was a big deal, but you have to remember, we get a lot of our nutrients from the little bit of food we do eat. So its not only important to eat - its important to eat the right things :)
