I do not have an answer for you, but I suggest you try the revision board.  Have you been back to your surgeon?  Good luck

It really depends on what type of surgery you had intially (your info does not say) and your own situation.  Insurance does not pay for revisions in most cases and most surgeons will not do a revision until they are sure that you are doing everything properly behaviorally (WHAT and HOW MUCH are you eating, are you exercising, how much do you drink, do you drink with meals (if you had RNY), etc.)  Lots of people find that, when they truly go back to the post-surgery basics (including logging everything they eat and the amounts to be sure they ARE following the rules) and really keep an eye on what they are taking in, the weight does start to come off again.  Much more slowly than when you had the surgery, of course...

Whatever you do, do NOT beat yourself up psychologically over the weight gain.  I understand that it is contributing to your health issues, but please do not get back into the mindset that so many of us had pre-op where we beat ourselves up for not being able to control our eating. That will only add to the depressive state (and then to the uge to eat for comfort).

Perhaps you could try to focus on eating a lot of very dense proteins (baked/grilled/broiled chicken, pork, beef, or some of the more dense fish like tuna) -- they will keep your pouch full longer and therefore limit your ability to eat other things because you are depressed.  Also, increase the amount you are drinking each day.  If your pouch is constantly filled with water or Crystal Light or whatever, there will be no room for food.

Hi happygirl, you have come to the right place.  You took a huge step coming here and posting your struggle, I commend you, I know how hard that truly is.

I can imagine it must seem incredibly overwhelming to look at things, but let's try and take one thing at a time. :)

You mentioned that you were injured, I do hope that you are on the mend and that there are options to manage the pain (I can absolutely understand pain physically and am going through it myself)  My biggest obstacle has been in my mind and in my heart while I go through my personal struggle.   Our tools are still there, but first, our minds and hearts hurt and sometimes become roadblocks.... I know mine did for almost 2 years because of what happened to me physically, but somehow, we still have our tools, this is a blessing.  Can you test to see if you tool is still working?  There are some tests (eating cottage cheese in 5 minutes till you are full - with no liquids) to see how much your pouch can hold.  That is a good base to start, along with pain management to try and help improve your mobility and it will help strengthen you emotionally too.... like a domino effect. :)    Once you know your pouch is still working, it's encouragement that it's not broken, it's just been rusting a bit, lets get the rust off!  :)

I do agree with some of the other posters to privately take a look at what you are consuming daily, keep a small journal, jot things down.  I re-started this process, and find it very helpful.  I try to write down feelings and frustrations.  It's a start. :)

Please keep us posted, don't give up, keep fighting, you can do this.

I can completely relate to the weight gain as I have regained 40 pounds myself and am struggling to take it off.  I have an injured ankle, which is making the weight loss more difficult since my exercise options are quite limited, but it sounds like your injuries may be chronic rather than an acute injury.

One thing I am doing and I might suggest to you is therapy.  I am already in therapy, but now my therapist and I are focusing on my eating habits and view of myself and my weight.  Depending on the therapist you see they may also be able to help with pain management and the depression as well.

Keep your head up and keep posting here for support.
