Beginning Liquid Diet
I started my liquid diet today since last week I discovered my blender was broken, which made a liquid diet a bit difficult to do. I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and got a new one so today I am able to make my protien shakes/smoothies.
For breakfast I made myself a blackberry smoothie and made it large so that it would satisfy the hunger I felt when I woke up and so that it will last for a significant amount of time.
I also had to alter my workout routine due to a severe sprain a week ago that has landed me in a boot for the next 3 weeks! But, I have an exercise ball and found many helpful workouts that I can do to workout my whole body.
Well, I am hoping to make this attempt to get back on the right path a success since previous attempts have failed and my weight and body are a reflection of this.
Hopefully stepping forward,
Nicole

Hi Nicole,
So are you using the liquid diet to get back on track, kind of a jump start? I am 5 years post op. I never reached goal and gained some weith back but have held steady for the last 3+ years.
I have thought about using a liquid diet week as a means to "shrink" my pouch back to a smaller size and the progressing as if I was newly post op. Right now I am focusing more on exercise--riding my bike and trying to get back into running. I need to incorporate a healthy post-wls diet as well but am not really sure how to start over again.

Wendy,
Yes, I am using the liquid diet as a jump start and actually I am not doing all liquids as I have found it more tolerable and less likely to quit/cheat if I eat a small, protien packed meal for dinner. Right now I am drinking a protien shake in the morning with 2 cups skim milk, 3 scoops of soy protien powder and 1 cup fruit and then for lunch 1.5 cups soy milk, 2 scoops of soy protien powder and 3/4 cup fruit.
I am also incorporating exercise into my life once again because I know that ultimately that is what will help to really kick things into gear for me. Once my ankle is healed I will be able to burn more with the exercise since all I can do now are strength/conditioning exercises on my exercise ball.
I came very close to reaching my goal last summer, but then I let it all go thinking I was fine and that I could eat and do/not do anything I wanted...boy was I wrong! So, now I am working my way back down to where I want to be...in a BMI range that is considered "healthy"!
I hope you are able to find something to help you...PM me any time if you need support.
