You're right...stay out of the kitchen. If it's warm outside, I have a killer recipe for gazpacho that is THICK and chewy but still technically a liquid..I found it on recipezaar and tweeked the recipe by roasting the veggies and using canned diced tomatoes..

You did good. Keep up the good work. See ya.

A graduation; how exciting! I logged my food into the daily plate and the numbers were pretty good!
0700-toast with peanutbutter- pre run
0900-protein drink-post run
1300-1/2 sandwich w top bread removed
1500-other half w top removed
1630-small banana
1830-light string cheese
1900-cube steak from crock pot, brocoli, and sweet potato
2100-raspberries with whip cream
Calories were a bit over 1400; protein 124 grams and carbs 120. I don't remember the rest. 4 mile run still kind of tired for some reason; my iron may be low again. I am due for lab work and more infusions the beginning of June. Great day over all. Tomorrow is hump day!

YEAH! Mid week finally...Again, another awesome list for the runner in you...You have it dialed in completely..

You probably do need some extra iron. Too bad you don't absorb the oral kind..I have buffalo burgers with tomatoes occasionally and that suffices for mine but I know each of us is different. I guess it's that 200 years of cattle growers genetics that kicks in when good lean beef hits my lips! LOL. Must be SOMETHING..Sort of like those obese genes that grabbed all the fat out of my diet and sent it to my HIPS!

Keep up the good work. See ya.

Anything with white flour goes straight to my hips!
I never tried to increase iron rich foods maybe I should. It couldn't hurt; but I do not eat liver!

It's funny that you say that because I never would eat liver voluntarily as a kid..My grandmother finally stooped to having it ground into our ground beef and so got us to eat it anyway..I think that's why when I was pregnant with my daughter a gazillion years ago I CRAVED liver and onions. I would buy the liver and freeze it nearly solid and then cut it thin like bacon, fry it up and eat it on toast..with grilled onions even...and I ate it UP!

Then when pregnant with my son, just 19 years ago (seems like a gazillion!) I craved burgers with nothing on them but butter and tomatoes. I was told by a nutritionalist that putting tomatoes on the burger quadruples the amount of iron you get out of the meat..something about pairing it with vitamin C...

Buffalo burgers have added iron in them (venison, elk, bear too) and putting a couple slices of tomato on there...SMACK..seals the deal. I'm a carnivore for sure!
