Almost 10 years out...
Nope haven't heard that, but it doesn't surprise me. I was told "not to drink" but not why..
I DO drink - and my ALT/AST are high (have been ever since surgery, even though I didn't drink for 6 months afterwards)...
I'm taking Milk Thistle to counter it- which does work. It has lowered the ALT/AST numbers, but not enough. I also have cut way back on how much I drink... I want those numbers in the "normal" range.
I don't know what they were "pre-surgery"... and for some reason My Dr's office can't find my labs for then...

Asside from it being empty, useless calories, I guess I dont' see anything wrong with an occasional drink..I drink part of a margarita or a wine cooler maybe once a month...maybe twice a month in the summer..a beer once in a while..but with alcoholism in my family I'm painfully aware that it can be a transfer addiction...
But for slamming one back, weekly or daily or more often than that...nope. Not here.

Yes, roughly.
The thing that is keeping me away is that 33% of us will have a problem with it. I'm pretty sure I have that % right on my forehead, so I'm not doing it. OK, well, that and it's straight up sugar.

P.S. My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
