hello all!  i had my rny surgery in september of 2004.  i have done great and lost about 120 pounds but in april of 2005 i fell off the post op diet wagon and began drinking fluids with meals.  i was on vacation and was getting so frustrated when we went out to eat that i could only have a couple of bites of food and wondered what would happen if i had a couple sips of water along with the food and quickly saw how much more i could eat.  this was the biggest mistake of my life.
today is the day (five years later) that i get back on track and strictly follow the post-op diet.  no more drinking while eating, much more protein, and more small meals throughout the day.  i need to lose about another 64 pounds and i know getting back on track and using my tool that this surgery has given me along with excersising is the key.  i'm so excited and just wanted to share with the group!  also, any advice any of you could give me to help me out i would greatly appreciate it.  have a great day everyone!

Hi Shelly!  Congratulations for coming back for support and getting back on track - I also find it hard NOT to drink with meals and try hard not to, but not always successful.

Hearing stories from people further out like you definitely helps the motivation to STOP doing that!

Hello,

I too am needing support to get back on track. I have had a hard time following post-op diet. I have at times binged on carbs and totally at what ever I wanted and I have over-eaten. I don't want to continue in this path of destructive behaviour and today is the day that I am holding myself accountable for every bite.

I am wishing you the best of luck and wanted to let you know we're here to support you. You can do this, just like I know I can. We have to do it 1 day at a time.

Have a wonderful day!

Hey there!  Are you logging everything you put into your mouth....and being honest?  This helps me be accountable-and to know when I've not eaten enough protein.  I'm really getting to the "hard part" now that a year is over and hunger is beginning to come back.  I use the health tracker on this site every day and I love it.  I also track my exercise on there too.  Best to you all!
