How many calories?

I am trying to loose the last 10 pounds and am wondering how many calories you are averaging daily?
My DR just gives me protein totals and suggested I cut my protein back to just 40 grams.  I don't like that idea. Everything I've read contradicts that.

I'm at right around 2000 with five days of excercise per week.

For losing ten pounds, I'd suggest 800 calories and 100g protein per day until the job is done.

Hello I'm 4 years out and trying to loss a few pounds by 800 calories will only be protein what about your bowels do they work right with all that protein.

800 Calories and 100g protein means 50% of your calories will be from protein.

I would always go back to that because it was my diet during the losing phase.  Meals for a day would be like this

Breakfast
1 egg /w 1 egg white and 1 oz cheese

Lunch
1 Egg Roll and 2 Crab Rangoons

Supper
1 Taco Shell and 2/3 cup ground turkey filling

Snack
SF Fruit Bar

With 3 protein supplements as well.

Figure out where you are right now with what you eat in a day and then cut that back a bit at a time until you see progress..40 grams of protein doesn't sound right to me..But that's just me.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I've dropped 7lbs in 8 days, but I don't recommend that for anyone...

What is your current diet & exercise routine?

MAJOR calorie deficit.  Walking 4 miles per day.  2 protein shakes/day & two containers of Kroger low carb yogurt (12g protien each).

ETA:  I ate other things as well, but those things were consistent.  I wouldn't recommend doing that for a long time, but it worked.  The only problem is that as soon as you add carbs back in you'll add a bit, since they hold water.
