gained more weight than i can bear to share
Hi,
It happens, we'll always be in recovery, never healed when it comes to food. I would recommend eating your dense protein first to fill up, then veggies. Also if you haven't, re-embrace your original rules you were given when you first had your surgery. You might also want to try the 5 day pouch test, which I understand works well for RNY patients.
Hope this helps.

I have two suggestions:
1) Eat less
2) Excercise more
That may seem trivial but I'm afraid there is no magic fairy dust that will lead to weight loss. I would suggest reducing your calorie intake to 800 to 1000 calories per day (50% protein) and then start something like Couch-2-5K for a cardio workout. You may even have lost the 45 pounds by the time you're able to run 5K.

Couch 2 5K (or C25K) is a program to get you from the Couch to running a 5K in 9 weeks. The program I used was from Cool Running and I found some podcasts off the site to help.
Having did the program two years ago I will say it works. I now run a 5K twice a week as my cardio excercise.

I gained 30 pounds in the past eight months. I was two years out and 10 pounds from goal when my grandmother passed, I lost my job, and was diagnosed with 12 pinched nerves in my low back.
Long story short- I ate more "comfort foods" and exercise fell off the radar.
Is there any recommendation to getting back on the wagon without exercise?

In the equation of Eat Less, Excercise More if you don't do the latter then you will need even less of the former.
For example, if you can maintain your weight on 1600 calories a day BUT you also do cardio to the tune of 400 calories per day, you can eat 2000 calories per day. This is something of a "deal with the devil" that helps satisfy your inner food addict. There is pain, but also a reward.
So eata healthy foods, log your intake, and figure out how much you need to maintain and then eat less than that to lose.
