Hi Ruby & the Dawn's,

I never give advice on weight loss - my struggle went away when I realized that although I am
still 30#'s from where I would like to be - that for the last nine years I can rearrange my closet for the different seasons of the year and still wear all the clothes.

I also weigh in every day - and am so happy when the scale remains the same or a pound or two lighter.

I wish you all the serenity to accept the things you cannot change.. the courage to change the things you can....and the wisdom to know the difference.  This OA prayer says it best.

I am probably 15 pounds from where I would like to be and can not give up and accept.  Well I am not crazy trying to lose, but I continue to weigh every day and eat/drink a lot of protein.  Of course I eat things I should not eat.  I walk a couple of miles daily and continue to try to get myself to the gym,  but it does not happen.  I am afraid to take a break from this weight lose battle.  If I do not keep an eye on the scale, it will get out of control again.

I am happy for your job well done.  Give yourself a hand and God Bless.

Congrats ......I too havent been here for a while. Since 2005....I had my surgery on 12/2/04 started out at 227 and still maintaining my weight of 125 though sometimes I may go up to 130.  Its not easy but nothing in life is easy.  Keep up the good work and everyone keep the faith....you have to really want it!!!....Take care and be well to all and Good Luck.

Congratulations!  I am four years out as of March 1 and actually in the last few months have lost the "rest" of my weight per my own goal.  Started at 243 and went to about 165, stayed there for 3 years, then recently lost the last 15.  I am happily at a size 8-10.  The one downside is that my diabetes was resolved fully for 3 years.  It then came back with a vengeance and I now have an insulin pump.  I was extremely disappointed about that, because that is why I had the surgery to begin with.  But at least diabetes is manageable...

Congrats again!

Congratulations on keeping your weight at your own goal.  The first couple of years I was off insulin injections  and only took one glibizide a day.  Then my diabetes control changes and I am now taking 3 metformin and 2 glipizide a day.  There wasn't any weight change.  I guess our bodies tell us what it needs.  Continued successes!!
