Numbers werent' too bad. I was mildly surprised that I was up two whole pounds this morning...not exactly a panic but I was much happier when, after lunch, I weighed actually less than I did when I woke up...I think my scale needs batteries!

How did you do?
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I wish I was an early bird! I hate to get up before 0630. I had a blah day. My back has been killing me so I am getting an MRI on Monday. I have to be there and checked in by 0630 so I will be an early bird on Monday.
0800 eggs w peppers and cheese
1030-steel cut oats w splenda
1200-1/2 german soft pretzel and sliced salami
1400-cup of minestrone and 1/2 turkey w top bread removed
1600-few bites of cake from german bakery and 10 almonds
1800-low carb bread, fried egg,2% cheese and 1 slice bacon
I did not run today but went for a brisk walk with DD and neighbor. I got all my water as I have been downing ehinacea tea. I feel a cold coming on so I have been taking zicam and drinking the immune building tea. I hope it works!

Good luck with your MRI. I have a bad back too, and went through an MRI in September of last year.  They found "alot of little things", but nothing major that needs surgery.  I am dealing with the pain using a chiropractor, physical therapy and pain meds.  The pain  meds have needed some tweeking as time has gone on and its a balance game.

I hope they find out what's up with you.  Pain sucks, and back pain...well... in my opinion, thats the worst!

Hugs,

Heather C.

Heather,
Thanks! I am afraid it will be nothing and I look foolish for wanting an MRI but on the other hand I do not want anything to be wrong either and have to deal with it. I took tow Doans PM last night and feel hungover today. I will just go without sleep tonight if need be! I am not opposed to physical therapy but all medications make me feel out of it. The massages have helped for a few hours after but then it is there again.

Not exactly a good day.

prebreakfast: coffee, coffee, coffee

B: cereal w/a splash of milk

S: 1 tbsp pb , 1 tbsp s/f jello on whole wheat (bs dropped d/t cereal)

2S: 1 cup lowfat milk

L: white beans w/ham, onion & ro-tel tomatoes cooked in them

S: 1 oz cheese

D: 3 - 4 bites of smoked boston butt

Later ate a little light popcorn w/my hubby.

Way too many carbs, not near enough protein & way too much snacking. These are the reasons I still have 25 lbs to go to reach my goal weight. Sure could use some support and encouragement!

Actually, given the breakfast the carbs weren't too bad. If you start out with carbs they generally elbow their way into your meals the rest of the day. The hamhocks and beans is naturally high in carbs but those are really good carbs.

The only snack that wasn't good was the whole wheat..so pb on a spoon? LOL. When I make my protein waffles (using a product called carb thin) or my protein pancakes, I use those things cold with peanutbutter .. there are things out there.

My suggestion would be to hit the deck with something high protein and try and stay away from the badish carbs. I mean you can't cut all carbs out but just be mindful of what is GOOD carbs like high fiber..

B:
3/4 c cereal
1/2 c fat free milk
3 c coffee
6 tbsp french vanilla creamer

S:
10 raw almonds
4 pretzel sticks

L:
3 pieces of california roll sushi
1/2 shrimp spring roll

S:
10 pretzel sticks

D:
3 oz salmon
10 asparagus spears

S:
1 cup chocolate frozen yogurt
1 tbsp heath bar topping

All in all I think I had a good day. Except that when it came time for my dessert I over did it and made myself sick. :(  I usually don't dump on sugar, but I got a larger size fro yo than usual intending on not eating it all and ended up scarfing it all down.  1/2 hour later I was sweating, stomach cramping and feeling like crap.  A classic "dump"! Once again, learned my lesson!

Today will be a better day.  Have a good day everyone!
