A couple people have asked me about "seafood steam pot" so here it is. It's actually called frogmore stew but has NO frog in it.

Here's a little southern history first...  lol

Frogmore Stew is considered a classic Lowcountry South Carolina dish. This dish is also know as Low-Country boil and Beaufort Stew. The dish gets its name from a place that has only a post office on one side of the road and a two-story white country store on the other. Frogmore is the mailing address for the residents of St. Helena Island just off the South Carolina coast.

OK, there is no actually recipe. Well I'm sure there is somewhere out there, but it's simple.

*Season a big pot of water with old bay seafood seasoning, (or whatever brand you find), a couple big pinches of salt, garlic powder and 2 tbsp of hot sauce if you like heat.
(Not too much water.. less than half. Just enough to boil the corn, sausage and potatoes. Everything else is basically steaming)

Once the water has come to a boil add the small red potatoes that have been poked with a fork. ( I like the really small potatoes)

*Just before they are fork tender, add the mini ears of corn, and sausage (Kielbasa sausage, cut in 1/2 inch slices)

*After it boils for 5 minutes, add the snow crab legs on top. (most are previously cooked so really you are just heating them up

*Then you add the shrimp and cleaned mussels.

*Once mussels are opened and shrimp cooked, its done!!

Drain the water and enjoy!

The basic frogmore stew recipe is potatoes, corn, sausage and shrimp. Then people starting add different types of seafood to the pot. If you don't like something, don't add it or add something you like. My dad loves crawfish and not crabs so he steams it that way.

I googled frogmore stew and did find a couple recipies. I'm sure you'll get the idea once you see the recipie. It's my all time favorite thing to eat. So good, i ate the last of it for breakfast this am
