HELP....HAIR LOSS at 8 years post op?????

If anyone has suggestions please respond ASAP.  I am 8 years post op.  I lost my weight intially and regained alot of it back after the first year.  I can eat a normal amount of food and I feel like I eat a fairly balanced diet, just too much.  The past few months I have been noticing extreme hair loss.  Lots of hair in the shower, lots in the comb, all over the floor, etc.  I'm literally shedding on my clothes and I can see that it's getting thinner and thinner.  I can see my scalp when it's ponytailed and I normally have medium-thick hair.  I am really concerned.  I'm in my early 30's and this is too much hair loss too suddenly to be age related anyway.  Please advise me on supplements and other options for getting my hair to stop falling out and possibly grow back!  HELP!

Hi there - Ive been experiencing a bunch of hair loss too.
I really think its a clear indication that i wasnt getting enough nutriants.
I started taking my vits regularly & included a double dz of biotin w/ that.
Since then (which has been about 2wks now), Ive noticed less hair in my brush & my hair feels thicker (in the rubberband).
Try the vits & biotin.
Here's what ive been taking:
ALIVE liquid multivitamin (1 cap full)
Super B complex liquid **includes biotin, b12, b6, rivoflavin -b2, niacin-b2, thiamin-b1** (1 tbs)
Biotin 100 mg (2 pills)
Super E complex 400 iu **from d-alpha, beta, delta, & gamma** (1 soft gel)
FizzC Cal-meg (1 pkt) **includes 1000mg C, 500mg Calcium (citrate/ascorbate/malate/glycinate), 250mg Magnesium (citrate/ascorbate/malate/glycinate), 200iu D3**
Chromium Picolinate 1000mg (1 pill)
Iron (ferrous sulfate) 325mg (2pills)
B12 2000mcg (2 pills)

Maybe the vitalady can chime in w/ some suggestions.

One thing that causes hair loss is anemia. have you had your iron levels checked lately?

Oh i concur - Im also iron deficiency anemic & as such should (have to) take extra iron.
but like i said - ive noticed a drastic reduction of hair loss since i started taking my vits regularly.

Hi Dragonfly123,

I'd also have your thyroid tested. I had major hair loss a few years ago due to Hashimoto's Disease. I take synthroid daily and my hair is back to normal.
