I was SO glad that when I reviewed the orders for my blood work this morning I didn't have to fast...I hate fasting. It sucks! What really really sucks is the budget cuts at work. I may be out of work for a month next year. Ouch...
4:30 am 10 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss
5:30 am 1 protein waffle with 1/2 serving of sf syrup and butter buds
6:00 am 10 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss
6:30 am 12 oz Drink Mix, GV Strawberry (from the night before!)
7:00 am 24 oz Drink Mix, Hawaiian Punch Lemon Berry
8:40 am 1 oz mozzarella cheese stick, 1 oz turkey breast deli meat
9:45 am 1 protein waffle, 1 T Soy Butter
10:20 am 12 oz Drink Mix, GV Fruit Punch
11:30 am 1 small pear raw
12:00 am 12 oz Drink Mix, GV Fruit Punch
12:35 pm 1 can tuna drained, 1 T mayonnaise, 1 T relish,
1:15 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, Morning Spark Grapefruit Caffeinated
After looking at the possible totals I was going to have with the steak/cheese/tortillas that I'd planned for the afternoon I opted for a banana instead. Yes, it's got some carbs but with my protein at 51% at this point, I can spare some carbs! Wow...
2:00 pm 1 small banana
2:20 pm 1 small orange
3:15 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, SoBe Living Way Banana Strawberry
4:30 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, Power Edge Tangerine Strawberry

6:00 pm 1/3 lb extra lean burger on a sandwich thin with tomato, grilled onions and thousand island dressing...YUM.

Totals for the day?

Calories: 1689
Fat: 69.8 (wow...alittle low)
Carbs: 111.6 (pretty good when before the banana it was below 50!)
Protein: 164.9 (before the banana it was 119!)

So I managed to pull it out from over 50% protein down to 40...Not bad at all. I may have a nice hot cup of decaf with nsa swiss miss before bed..

Have a nice weekend. I intend to!

A month at one time? Does that allow for unemployment benefits?
0930-sandwich thin toasted, 2 wedges laughing cow light and 6 slices thin deli ham
1230-1/2 chicken breast, creamed spinach, 1/4 cup pasta w light alfredo sauce
1530-mini M&M's-I signed up for my annual United Way Contribution and they were handing out the min packs- why did I take it? I knew it would end up in my belly! Went down hill from there
1700-6 whoppers while waiting for my annual review at my second job
1800-fresh spring roll, egg noodle soup. I ate very few noodles as all the shrimp and BBQ pork filled me up
1900-movie popcorn, 8 milk duds
2100-small vanilla cone from DQ
All my water and such, no exercise. We saw the blind side, it was good. I will start back with the daily plate tomorrow. I got my second iron infusion and I feel fine. Last week I had a few side effects. I am ready for the weekend!

It's sort of like custodians at school sites during the summer. They don't need them cuz there are no students so they're layed off. They're off for a month or two and it appears that's what they want to do with us. I work in the administration area where I do the accounting for the school sites and departments. There is a girl who does my job as a back up when I'm on vacation and sick so I'm thinking they'll make me off during July and her off during August or something like that. They'll save 1/12 of our wages and benefits.. Yes, it's a way to save money but what am I suppose to do for that month? Who saves up a months' wages (which I'm sure they won't give us time to save up that kind of money) to make all your bills?

Yeah, I'm worried. It won't be too bad if my husband can sell something but....Yeah, I"m worried.

I know about the call of those M&Ms...And yeah, once you give in to the carb, the carb comes calling all day LONG...

I always worried about infusions...what kind of side effects come with that? They tested my blood for anemia but I don't believe that is an issue. I think it was an excuse to get blood work at six months (my doctor is good like that). I had a CBC and Iron test..only three vials this time. So much better than 15 vials last July.

we would sure be in trouble wthout a month of my wages;yikes! Can you temp for a month? My friend was a temp whenever her DH was off work; she was a executive secretary. I am a nurse and could always sign up for agency if I had to.
Iron infusions can cause nausea, fatigue, body aches. I had a bit of all last week but I feel fine today, but I did sleep in. I meant to get up at 7 so I could run with my group and I fell back to sleep and did not wake up until 0913! I never sleep in like that. DD was at a sleep over and DH was gone by 0600.
I did my annual lab work on 12-31. I always do it the last day of the year because I know my deductable is met by then! Without insurance just for my labs the cost would be over $850. The physical was nearly $200. I am lucky to be double insured and end up paying very little. It is expensive to be healthy, let alone sick. I had 8 vials of blood taken, I do not think I have ever had more than that.

My labs were quite extensive in July and then they messed up three of them...that's why I had 15 vials...Toward the end of the draw the blood was just trickling...not really flowing at all.

That is a great idea about the temp work. I actually found out that I liked accounting work by doing temp work...I could do it again...I have more experience now than I did back in the early 90s! Great idea.

I KNOW health insurance is expensive...I know the district pays alot for our insurance..I used to figure the budget for that and when I did it it was 12,000  a year for each person...now they want to put a ceiling on it at 15,000 or something like that. Over and above that it will cost the employee...AND they want to tax us like it's income...I can see that  because it is part of our income but OUCH..to raise my income 15,000 a year. I'm nervous over that too.

You must have needed the sleep more than the run..but then there's always tomorrow! Have a nice Sunday! See ya.

Why O Why did i have to stop by that table outside the cafeteria boasting nothing but a bunch of delicious goodies all in the name of donations for Haiti! I totally got sucked in by the Krispy Kremes, bagels, cakes, brownies, & Hobbies blueberry coffee cake - all donated by the shops for the cause.
I got a 1/2 dz of krispy kreme glazed & that was the end...

I was so tired - I was suppose to do another 5k (especialy after those donuts) but I could barely make it to 2 miles. I knida felt like a failure, but I guess something is better than nothing. I swear, when it comes to food, sometimes it seems like i have no will power whatsoever.
Even though i felt ashamed for eating the KKs, that didnt stop me from having another one :(

Ooo...Krispy Kremes...I remember those..Ultra sweet, like honey and soft inside but just a tiny bit of crunch on the outside. Not really crunch but crinkle sort of.

Yeah, those are really hard. Have you googled the nutritional values on those? I mean it will make you feel even worse but maybe next time when you look at one, you won't see the yumminess but all those really HIGH numbers. or if the numbers aren't that high, you can make room for it in your list. The trick is just stopping at one.

Once you feel bad about it, you feel "oh well, then another isn't going to do any worse, I'm already at the bottom." but if you allow for alittle of that it's getting your cake and eating t too..And not feeling the guilt. at least not all of it.

Just a thought. It'snot like I don't go off road a couple of days a week..Maybe after you bought them, you could put them up for adoption right away and leave yourself just one.

Thanks Dawn & ya, (cute) I thought about putting them up for adoption - anything just to get them out of my cube. but i didnt. i horded them all day thinking **oh i'll save these for the boy - he'll love them!**. crimey...

& oh ya - i checked the numbers (i use the daily plate, which gives you the goods on everything, right) STILL wasnt enough to deter me. I check it out - saw the numbers - agreed oh these are HORRIBLE!!! - & proceeded to stuff it in my face LOL

well - i'm feeling much better about it this morning. lesson learned (not really, but at least im moving on). What im glad i didnt do was have pizza & pasta for lunch the day before, then the entire 1/2dz of KKs + a bagel. So ya, I guess i am learning something :)
I also not that im feeling that "fullness" again. im recognizing it & stopping when i feel it.
those are all accomplishments for me.

I could have said this myself: **oh i'll save these for the boy - he'll love them!**...I really need to work on this. My son is a twig and doesn't eat much at all. Bring him home one of those and it sits on the counter...and sits...and sits... I hate that feeling worse than eating the darn thing myself. But I still do it. and when it sits there too long, I eat it myself. ARGH...He's 6 ft 1 inch tall and weighs about 114 pounds. He's 18 years old...

I made that boy some waffles to eat while we were gone to Scottsdale. He ate the white castle burgers instead. Burgers. breakfast lunch and dinner. I made him waffles that I can't eat myself and there they sat in the freezer. So this week I thawed him out two each morning. When I got home from work, I tossed them outside to the birds...of course, he didn't eat them. Now, I did ask him if he wanted them and his answer was an enthusiastic (well, for him) yes..The birds love me at least...

I have some mental adjustments to make!

Granted knowing the numbers doesn't deter me either but I can't claim I didn't know...I've done that before too! Time to grab another water container!
