Hello. I will be 3 years post op in March. I need help in trying to get back on the right path. I was 330 before surgery. After surgery i lost down to 225 and now i have gained back 20 pounds. I had a hysterectomy last year and i haven't felt the same since then. It seems that i don't have restriction anymore. I can't blame all the gain on my hysterectomy cause i have just gotten lazy and doing alot of snacking. I called my bariatrics team to see if i could do a revision and they said no due to the fact that nothing is wrong with me. So they suggested that i get back to the basics and what not. What do anyone suggest that i do? I'nm so ready to get this weight off. My goal weight was to be at 175 which i  never even made it down to 200 and i think i was getting discouraged. So any suggestions? I have done the 5 day pouch test and that works to a degree but i need a long term solution. Please help!!!!!!

Back to basics is a good place to start.

Eat your protein first, drink plenty of water but not after you eat for at least a half hour..journal your foods and stop emotional eating..

All of that is well and good but just take little steps. Just journal your food for a while and measure what you are eating to see how much you are taking in..just see where you are and then you can map a path to where you want to be.

And then move more.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Before Surgery: 214
Highest Weight: 240
Now: 125.6
Goal: 130

Ditto what Dawn says - she speaks the truth :)
Getting back to basics, journaling my food intake, stepping up my water & protein consumption, reporting in to the board (here) on a daily basis to hold myself accountable is all working for me.
Now, Im making better food choices, im MOVING MORE, im drinking more liquids (which i was completely starving my system before) & im finally taking my vits every day (which has totally increased my energy level - so im not as sluggesh during the day anymore. i zip around the office & have even made it to the gym on my lunches).

Most of all, keep the faith & stop getting so down on yourself. Know that part of what you are experiencing is stricktly a physiological reaction to what your body has just experienced. I havent had a histo yet, but boss lady did. She told me (that her Dr. told her) that our fat cells hang onto fat more after you have a histo. I'd have to take to her about it again to get the exacts - but the point is, this means that you just have to work harder (walk 30 more mins on the treadmill every day) to reverse that effect & start to lose again.
You can reach that goal!!

The Will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

Thanks ladies so much for all of your inspiration. I was really feeling down on myself but after reading your posts, i'm  getting myself back on track.  I know what i got to do and must do. I'm going to join curves again and do all the other things you all suggested. I will keep you all posted on my progress. Thanks again!
