Hi there,

Just wanted to congratulate you on taking control of your weight loss again before a 20 lb gain turns into a 30 lb gain, etc. I wish I would've done that myself.

Congrats! Just realizing that you need to do something is a victory! And if you journal your foods on something like fitday or daily plate and start measuring your portions, it will really help you take notice of what you are doing!

You can't head out in any direction until you know where you ARE...so measure, portion and journal everything...then look at those figures and know what you need to do and make some small changes..It might be as easy as parking as far away from stores as possible and lowering your portions to the size on the package...

Just those small things are among the list of things that make a successful WLS patient..There are other things (like joining a local support group) but baby steps!

Welcome!

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I am in the same boat here, and I'm starting over today. Tracking my food intake on www.fitday.com -- they have a free tracker there with a huge database of foods that you can customize and add your own recipes, etc.

I have gained 20 lbs in the past twelve months. I felt it in my tight clothing in December but chose to ignore it, telling myself that come the New Year, I will go in a new direction.

Today.

Don't we all live with this fear?   I gained some during the holidays, allowing myself to bake goodies (and eat them).   Sometimes I think I have to obsess about something and now it is about gaining weight.   But that is not a bad thing.

We are on the right track journaling everything.   Weighing ourselves and our food.

Remember where we were, how we felt loosing the weight (victorious) and how we felt before.   We have more power than we think we have.  We have been given a wonderful tool, but we still have the control of it.

We can do this thing.  We've done it before and we'll continue to be successful.

Good luck everyone....

Jane

Starting this Monday I am going to take accountablility  by starting off with a few days of just liquid protein and then working back up to eating the basics.  I need to jump start and thought that for me this is the best...I need to KICK the SUGAR ADDICTION and cut out the carbs.  I want to lose the 20 lbs I put back on since 2004.  I still fit into my smaller clothes but find that the bulk of my weight has gone to my arms and BOOBS.  To some women this may be a blessing but to me it is not.  My pants are a size 10 and my tops are and XL.  I HATE MY BIG BOOBS!!!  I want to be able to button my shirts again without pinning that little opening in the middle of my shirt.  Some may think I am crazy but I want to get back to my totally skinny self again which should be 155 lbs instead of 175 lbs.  New Year, New Resolution, New Self!
