Okay, so this is a pre-post...I'm posting before the party and what I INTEND to eat is what is going to be included:

B: protein pancakes with sugar free syrup, 1 coffee w/nsa swiss miss

2B: 2 eggs, 2 slices bacon, 1/3 cup cottage cheese, 2 slices rye toast without crusts

L: 1/2 can water packed tuna, 1/2 oz hamburger relish, 1 oroweat sandwich thin

D: 5 oz cooked shrimp, 10 cracker sized slices jack cheese, 1 oz ****tail sauce and probably a wine cooler. maybe some salami too.

Without the salami, the totals will be:

Calories: 1695
Fat: 76.7
Carbs: 102.3
Protein: 151.5

The protein is right up there but the calories are too...the wine cooler and the shrimp maybe cancel eachother out? I don't think so..

That's my day and evening...How will/are you doing for this New Year's Eve? I hope the upcoming year is good to you. I think it will be good to me...here's to hoping.

See ya.

EDITED TO ADD: I had less shrimp but also had about 10 ritz crackers. I didn't have a wine cooler but homemade wine and it was STRONG...I had maybe 1/3 cup of that, sort of nursed it for the longest time but it made me goofy rather quickly! So figure the calories were higher, carbs were much higher and the protein probably the same..Still not too bad.

Hi Dawn,
I'm looking forward to my wls in February... but am a little concerned about recovery. My surgeon is not in agreement with laproscopic surgery so I will have a 4 in*****ision
I am hopeful to return to work 2.5 weeks after surgery. Am I being naive?
Thanks & happy New Year!

I think 2.5 weeks after an open RNY surgery is a bit too soon. I think with a cesarean it's longer and you're having that sort of a cut..What does your surgeon say about time off and what sort of occupation do you have?

You might go to the RNY main board and ask around on recovery for open RNY and see. I had laproscopic and I would have been totally fine, had I not done too much too soon because I felt too good!  I cleaned my shower about 6 days out. I took two weeks off from a desk job and I was fine, relatively speaking.

Early out, your body is going to act like it's being starved to death and you'll be really tired and the slightest activity (shopping and not even pushing the cart for a half hour) will wear you OUT...That's all normal.

Best of luck to you. Let us know when you have it all arranged!

Thanks for the fast reply... My doc says some people return to work in a week to a week and a half. I'm thinking that two and a half weeks should suffice as I have a desk job and could return on light duty.
