I gave myself the day off of keeping track of my calories and intake...but I didn't stop eating. LOL.

B: a whole serving of protein pancakes, eaten over the course of a couple of hours.

B: 1 small potato lefse, a norwegian pancake sort of thing...with butter and splenda...yum

L: left over turkey sandwich on a sandwich thin with mayo. about 4 oz turkey breast meat

D: 3 slices spiral sliced ham, green bean casserole, baked pineapple (with splenda brown sugar, no one noticed!)

S: 2 slices of sugar free pumpkin pie with whipped cream..

Bedtime snack: eggnog with rum...

Yeah, I did stray off the beaten path on my carbs but it wasn't too bad. I felt like I was getting away with something...LOL.

How did you do?
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Hey Dawn. Happy belated Christmas.
I have been busy with Christmas and family but in the back of my mind, i thought about u, OH and just being accountable.
OMG, every where I looked was food.. my drug of choice.  As much as i rehearsed it in my head, over and over again. food won.
Thank GOD for my surgery because the times when I overdid it, my pouch said, "stop"!!

Christmas day...

B: Protein shake w/ my daily meds

S: I started tasting everything at mom's house.

L: Ham, turkey and a few bites of each....
Mac n cheese, stuffing, potato salad, steamed cabbage, collards, broccoli casserole, mashed potoatoes n gravy and yams.

S: small peice of apple pie

D: 2 slice of ham, 1 wheat roll and a couple bites of potato salad

S: Hot chocolate (diet)

S: another sugar cookie

At the very least we can identify with each of our struggles. I surely can! I was mildly irritated with my sister's dinner party because there seemed to be no end of the things I wouldn't eat normally...All carb heavy and protein light and if not that, it was packed with sugar (syrup)...I was sure hoping for the jumbo shrimp from the year before! Should have brought that myself! I know for next year.

You didn't do too bad. You focused in on the protein and then traveled sideways...But, as I said just before Christmas Eve...a couple of days of side tracking isn't going to gain us back to where we were before surgery...It's continuous grazing, no exercise, bad choices over a long period of time and then... "suddenly" we're totally ruined...

Keep up the good work..I think we made it alright! Have a good week and happy new year!
