Acid Reflux

I have been having some trouble with extremely dry throat and nasal passages.  My ear/nose/throat doctor said I have acid reflux.  I don't have any pain or burning or even a taste in my mouth.  I didn't think we had enough acid in our stomachs to have this issue.  I am seven years out.  He said only about a third of all patients has any burning, etc. Has anyone else had acid reflux?  Oh yes, I had a lap roux and y.  Thanks for you input.

I do get burning if I have something too close to bedtime..it tends to ride up into my throat and burn really bad up into my mouth AND nose...If that's any help.

I just don't eat less than an hour before I lay down for bed. Seems to be working for me so far.

Thanks Dawn for the reply.  My sister has a disease called Sjogrens, and the main symptons are dry mouth, nose and throat.  I am waiting for blood tests to come back on this issue; however, I have come down with a terrible sinus infection.  I believe this was what was coming for weeks, as I have woke every morning with a cotton filled head!  I rarely go to bed with any food in my stomach, as it tends to want to come up (vomit) if I eat and lay.  So, I learned early on to go to bed with very little or nothing in my stomach.  I think the doctor called it wrong.

I had my lap band surgury in 04 and I begain having the dry throat  symton about 4 years ago and no one -- not doctors or nutricians could help.  My throat would get sooooo dry and neither water or any othrr type of liquid would quench it,.  I would often eat ice cream to sooth it even though i was not hungry. 

Then one day out of nowhere i took an antiacid (like tums or rolaids) an that resolves it.  i had tried all the other stronger anti acid drugs, but nothing worked for me against the dryness like tums.  i still take them regularly.  they have not cured my night time acid reflux, however.
