Hi OH Family

A friend of mine had the same weight loss surgery as me (gastric bypass) and joined Weigh****chers to lose weight because she is two years out and doesn’t lose they way she used to.  Has anyone that had weight loss surgery joined WW to continue to lose weight or maintain their weight loss?  How was your experience?  I was just wondering if it would be beneficial for me to join or not.  Thanks for your input in advance.

Some do have to keep going and find it difficult. After a couple of years it's like anyone who hasn't had surgery to continue to lose weight..It's all about your own self control at that point. The tool still works but not as radically.

I've heard weigh****chers has low carb or at least low carb friendly programs so I know it can work.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Before Surgery: 214
Highest Weight: 240
Now: 125.6
Goal: 130

Purple:

I have found the South Beach diet has worked for many I have known. For me, thats the plan I follow.

If you believe going to the meetings is helpful for you, I think its a good idea.  I have heard they do have a low carb option.  You really DONT want to do a low fat option.

Like Dawn said the tool is still there, it just doesnt work like it did.  If you think that will keep you on track, go for it.  Let us know how its working for you.

Thanks ladies for your input.  Being that Im more than a yr out I see that the weight loss has stopped and now I have to put more effort into losing.  And now I am trying to figure out what will work best for me.  Not quite sure what way is best yet but am working on getting it together.

Hello...

There is an OH member by the name of "Special Kay".  She is a current member of WW and I asked her a bunch of questions because I will be 3 years out in a few months and am having problems losing and/or gaining.  To my knowledge she has been a member for quite sometime and she has found it to be very helpful.  I'm sure she'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Hope this helps.

Marie

Really...all my Nut said was that it could be good because they help you to focus on what you are eating.  She also said to make it more protein focused.  But please let me know what yours says.
