Any grads experience this?
Hello everyone! I am almost 4 years post-op and have been experiencing something weird for the past few months. You know the feeling when you get a 'stitch' in your side--like from walking or running too fast? Well, I have that feeling alot, but almost all the way around me under my rib cage (front and back). It's not excruciating pain, but just enough to annoy me. I'm just concerned that I'm missing a vitamin or mineral or something. Anyone?

MaryLouB,
There was just a question in my local paper about this very thing...Ask Dr. Donohue.
"Question; My wife has started jogging with me. She gets a pain in her side from time to time and she has to stop. What is this? G.M.
Reply; It's probably a side stitch. It's believed to be a cramp in the diaphragm, the large muscle that stretches from one side of the body to the other and partitions the chest from the abdomen. It's the principal breathing muscle.
To prevent a side stitch, your wife should exhale forcefully when her left foot hits the ground. If the pain is on her left side, then she exhales when the right foot strikes the ground. "
Hope this helps ,
Diana

Or it could be an adhesion....Sometimes, our insides "stick" together a bit, from being rearranged. I have one from time to time, even had a scope done over it, and nothing, everything's fine. Just some weird phantom pain. The Doc said it was probably nothing to worry about. If it keeps up, ask your doctor.
Thank you everyone for your help and advice. I went on the net and did a little investigating on my own and I have alot of the symptoms for gall bladder problems. There is alot of family history with gall bladder, so I think I may get to my doctor and get it checked out. Thanks again.
