Hello Dawn
Just another Monday... nothing special about it.
My good eats..
Breakfast:
Protein shake
Snack:
Apple
Lunch:
2 eggs scrambled w/ ham & Cheese & 1 slice of light wheat toast
Dinner:
6 " Buffalo chicken sub from subway.
(Ate 1/2 then only the guts from the second 1/2)
Snack:
1 small stalk of celery & 2 tbsp of RF peanut butter
I agree. Mondays are not special...tuesdays before a nice mid-week holiday can be special...If Valentine's falls on Monday it can be special but this week......nothin.
Is it my imagination or are your lists getting shorter and shorter? Are you eating enough? What's there looks like a good balance of protein and carbs but it's looking just alittle light to me...
Be sure not to short your brains. With your classes and work you need all those brain cells to be firing on all eight (sorry, car speak there)
Keep up the good work. See ya.

I had my usual day.
0800-eggs and bacon
1000-apple
1230-meat and veggies from a chicken teriyaki bowl; no rice
1430-sf cookies
1730-chicken breast, small baked potato and brocoli
2030-100 cal english muffin w PB and SF jam
needed more water got my vits and such. No walk as we were in Seattle for follow up of hernia repair and then went to the base to early Christmas shop. I am tired and am going to bed at 9 tonight. I just took tylenol and benadryl. I have been having trouble sleeping. I am such a belly sleeper and I can't do it yet. I still have one drain, it will come out the 18th; I can't wait.

You did good! I can see the choices coming around and the carbs going down...I never experienced a drain so I would feel pretty crappy about it too! I know my husband had a drain when he had his hernia surgery but it was because he did something stupid. He was really upset!
One day at a time..you see the light at the end of the tunnel..it's coming! See ya.

Absolutely you needed food. A partial liquid diet for a while isn't bad..I can see from the solid food you ate that your body was CRAVING the carbs..With the walking you did, that's understandable.
You're drinking plenty of water too? Not just the shakes bu****er.
When I'm trying to get back into control, I make sure I stay away from white, refined carbs for a long time. That sort of limits their control over my brain. Fruit, whole grains (if you must have bread) and always paired with protein..apple with cheese or crackers with peanut butter (that english muffin with peanut butter was GOOD) . Maybe a small snack in between the meals like two crackers with small slices of cheese...I mean neither the crackers or the cheese are full servings but they might be enough to take the edge off and then wait for a half hour and drink some water...
Just suggestions, actually...you know your body and your brain.
Keep up the good work. Any step is a step in the right direction because it's away from where you are...LOL.

Extra peanut butter and make it a whole wheat muffin. LOL. J/K.. I absolutely love peanut butter..but the bread, not so much. It's a trigger for me, I'm afraid.
For a snack I sometimes have a hard boiled egg (with a sprinkle of salt) or a cheese stick wrapped in turkey deli meat. You've seen my lists...I'm REALLY big on snacks.
