TVA question

I purchased a bag of TVP Whole Foods.  I have never used TVA before.  Can any of you offer some suggestions for its use?  I didn't think it came dried in a bag.  For some reason, I thought it would be wet like Tofu.  Thanks in advance.

Where you would use ground beef, you can use TVP. Just pour boiling water over it and let it reconstitute and it's good to add to whatever..

Also, if it's a granule size that you can handle (fine granule works best for me) you can add it to oatmeal or sprinkle it on pudding or yogurt. In the yogurt and pudding it would be un-reconstituted and sort of crunchy...it has a sort of nutty flavor like that. In oatmeal I put it in with quick oats before it's cooked in the microwave and it's not bad..

My breakfasts are this:

1/3 cup quick oats
1/4 cup fine granule tvp
1 cup plain soy milk
2 Tablespoons sugar free Da Vinci flavor syrup (this week it's raspberry but I tried chocolate too!)

and microwave 2.5 to 3 minutes...yummy.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!
