Thank all of you for understanding and for responding.  Today has been pretty good.  I had to get up at 7:00 am and made cupcakes, for our church yard sale.  I was able to resist nibbling, and I was so proud of myself.  For lunch I I had 1/4 barbeque pork sandwich (no bread) i/4 cup beans and 1/4 cup slaw along with 2 cherry peppers (My favorite).  Hubbyis taking me out to celbrate my birthday.  Dinner is going to be at a Mexican restaraunt, and I am not sure of my good choices there.  Does anyone have suggestions.  I really have the hardest time resisting the chips and salsa!  Football loving, tough guy husband has bitten a big bullet and signed us up for a private, 1hour, swing dance lession and then we will go to a swing dance party for 2 hours.  How great is that.  His idea, no help from me, he just thought I would like it.  Boy was he right!  This is a hugely thoughtful present.  He gets major brownie points for this one.   I will let you know how it goes.  Your input is invaluable to me right now, so thanks for your replies.  Love 2 all, D

Hi D -

Just wanted to chime in and tell you GOOD JOB ...Getting on it early is definately the key and keeping your mind set to get to the goal...I agree it only takes a few lbs for me to mentally feel like I'm HUGE, crazy but as the number on the scale creeps up ( even a little ) my mental body image grows too and I have a harder time seeing what I REALLY look like...

I'm following your post and modifying my eating and exercise habits right along with you...

Alesia, you go girl!!!  I ended up having a shrimp soup at the restaraunt.  It was great and low cal. If you and I team up, it might be fun.  D

Tell your husband that the better he is on the dance floor, the faster on his feet he'd be on the field..I know alot of the football players that I dated in high school were actually pretty good on the dance floor...now that's a million years ago but still.

Keep motivated. The problem I have is that "gained weight, it's over, why bother train of thought." I have to keep reminding myself that I'm worth trying again and again and again...get back up, try again..

Actually, I had mexican food for my birthday too (Sunday) and it wasn't bad. Just go slow and be sure to listen for the signs that you're full. I ordered a chicken burrito and ate about 1/3 of it..maybe 6 ounces total and it was SO filling..I stayed clear of the rice and refries but the chicken burrito was good. I might have even stayed away from the flour tortill but I didn't..maybe that's why it was so filling..
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!
