Anyone with WW experience
Alright, I give! I am 4 years out, I've lost 260-ish pounds, I am Happy! But I have this last twenty-ish pounds sticking around like flies on a cow (pun intended). My NUT (I love her dearly but...) has suggested dropping carbs to below 50...fine for short bterm nbut just like doing Atkins, not realistic in the long run.
So I'm thinking about sneaking into WW. Anyone have any experience dealing with points, etc.? Any suggestions would be helpful.

I have a good friend who has good luck with WW. She is 7 years out, and she had put back on about 45 pounds. She has lost about 35 of it since March. She is counting points. I am in agreement with you that limiting even good carbs is often a bandaid on a pumping artery. I do believe (personally speaking) that I need to limit the white stuff!
Such an accomplishment! 260 pounds is wonderful!
I've gone to WW the entire three years since my surgery. I'm a lifetime member, so it's free for me to attend.
I'm allowed 20 points per day when I want to lose. It's easy, adaptable to whatever diet you want to follow (I'm still pretty low carb, three years out) and the people are just darned nice.
If the group support sounds good to you, and the accountablity of weighing in each week seems helpful, I'd go for it. I think they are offering free registration this month, and maybe a free meeting or two.

Hi, I got down to my lowest weight then gained about 22 lbs back. My dr suggested WW just to get back on track. I'm glad I did because i lost the 22 lbs plus a few extra lbs. It really did help me! There is actually a few people that attend the same WW meetings I do that has had gastric bypass surgery. One lady never gained, she just attends for the support and weighing in every week, keeps her on track and accountable.
I don't go every week anymore. I go every 2 weeks.
At first, I hated counting points but after a couple weeks, you get use to it. I eat a lot of the same things so I just remember how many points everything is and I ate of of the Smart Ones frozen dinners for lunch and they have the points on them.
I say give it a try! I'm so glad I did

Thanks, everyone. That's exactly why I want to go---the weekly weigh-in and group support of everyone losing weight no matter how! Think I'll head to the website and see when my local meeting is...I have a center about 2 miles from my house!

260 pounds!!! That is AWSOME!!!
I went to WW about 18 months ago and lost 20 lbs in about 3 months and then I hit a wall. Of course I gained back all of the weight plus some. But, I learned a lot. WW is a good program. I plan to go back after I have my WLS. I like the support and learning how to look at food nutrition values (points) instead of just calories. I bought one of the little points calculators which really helps. A also love many of their foods that you can't buy in a regular grocery store...in particular the protein shakes.
I also NEED the weekly accountability and the fact that people actually CHEER for you if you even loose 1/4 of a pound! There are stickers for every 5 pounds and other rewards for 25, 50 etc pounds. Those stickers come to meal sooooo much.
At WW you pay until you reach your goal weight and become a life-time member and then it is free for the rest of your life.....what a deal.
