sick and stressed
My stomach has been a mess this month, he's only been gone Since August (11th) and I'm having worse heart burn then usual, more trouble with keeping foods down, and I'm noticing a slightly stronger sensitivity to certain foods. I recently moved, and don't even know if I'm Doc ready. I carry my stress in my gut- always have always will. Now, instead of eating it, it's eating me.
I don't know what to do. There's no-one here I know really well. My mom dosn't really get what I'm going through- she just makes comforting noises at me. I'm just wondering is or has this happened to any of you? Carrying your stresses so hard that your stomach starts acting up? Or does this mean I get to find me a doctor who has a clue about my surgery/problems that tricare will approve?

So you have to find some other thing to distract you. When you're busy, you don't have time to eat and you don't have time to dwell on the stress either.
When I get stressed, I absolutely can not eat! I feel like my pouch just "shuts off" and so that's the issue with stress. I have to baby my pouch back into accepting ANYTHING. I have found that a nice hot bath and then a warm cup of tea or just something fluid and warm usually helps..
Just be kind to yourself and take it one day at a time. It's a stressful time but you can get through it...

I don't know anything about the RNY.
While I was in the hospital last week they were giving me Nexium. I asked why, and my surgeon said that many patients develop 'stress ulcers' while in the hospital. So go see your doctor.
I know how stressful a deployment can be (my DH is retired Navy, my son has 25 years in the Marines, my Dad was a Lt. Col in the Air Force). I also know how comforting those food buddies can become.
If Tricare paid for your surgery, I would think they would pay for any related aftercare. But if not. Stress is a legitimate problem that they WILL cover.
If you are so new there thay you don't have a doctor yet, it is time to start looking! Better to have one lined up before an emergency occurs. Get out and find a WLS support group if you need to. Someone who you can talk to that will understand what you are going through. Do you still keep in contact with old WLS friends from your previous place?
Good luck. Keep stopping in here. Visit some of the other OH forums if you don't already. Perhaps your state one will have folks locally that can help.
I didn't get into groups much back home- I used OH here as my support network, and my family helped out for the lesser things. I'm only here (In Kentucky- still havn't figured out how to change my personal info) for the year then it's moving again. None the less, I'll take your advice and find someone to tlak to.
I appriciate the feed back, venting this stuff helps too :)
