Hi there...

I am dawn.  I am one yr out on the above date..   I was doing good... and for weeks, i was not gaining anything... or loosing.. i was at 140.  I was under the mistaken impression that i could eat what i wanted.... (popcorn, chips)  because i wasn't eathing that much.... i wouldn't gain. SO now, i am up 4 lbs. i would like to get back down... and not have this issue anymore.  I try to eat a lot of protine... like eggs, cheese, and bacon or a protine bar for break fast... but alot of mornings i have been doing an apple with PB and i eat cheese sticks with pretzles... i am full after any of the things i mentioned... but i guss i feel un healthy again.

I would like some advice... and i do know that chips aren't healthy...  I was addicted to Sugar before, and since it wasn't sugar, i was being ok with it...

should i do the pouch thing?

I am not sure if i am alone, but in my mind, i can't get rid of the weight...  no matter how small i am, i am still big to me!  it's all fustratrating.

thanks.. all

But you can get rid of the weight before it's a giant mess. 4 pounds isn't like it was before your surgery. Nothing like before surgery...

I know, in your mind, you feel like: what is the difference between 4 pounds and 40 pounds but it's NOT the same. 4 pounds can be nothing more than a couple days of too much salt. pretzels? popcorn? I'm seeing salt and water retention...bacon? peanut butter? more salt and water retention...potato chips? Come on! replace the salt with extra water for a couple of days and see what happens...

You can do this. Yes, it's hard but it's worth it...You can get rid of the weight. If you don't believe it, then you've already decided you can't. I say you can...And you CAN.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Before Surgery: 214
Highest Weight: 240
Now: 125.6
Goal: 130

No, I wouldn't do the pouch test. You're only just over a year out so need for that with just 4lbs to lose. Just go back to eating healthy and doing all the good things you should be doing and you'll be fine!!! Believe me, this is only the beginning of figuring this whole thing out! I'm 4+yrs out and still don't have it all figured out~although most days are pretty great!!!! I guess the 4lbs isn't the worry~the bigger worry is if you are backsliding into those old, bad habits~don't allow that to happen! You've worked to hard to give up now! Good Luck to You!
