chronic leg pain
Well I started taking 2 caltrate D which is recommended because I was only taking 1 and I started taking potassium, but I also read it could be lack of magnesium. My sister said she was having the same problem and the Vitamin D really helped her. She said her hips were really bothering her too, but my pain is mostly like the shin area. I guess I should have my bloodwork done again I just hate going to the doctor. I will see first if the supplements help. Have you been tested for arthritis?
Sorry I should of read the entire thread before responding. The shin area was exactly where I hurt prior to knowing my D was on the low side (not deficient), taking dry D-3 has helped me with this.

Karen, when my Vit D dropped my legs hurt constantly. The ache was at the bone, not muscle related.
I also feel like I may have restless leg syndrome. I cannot keep my legs still or they hurt. I've procrastanated and need to see my PCP. He wanted me to do a sleep study to see if that's what it is. I toss and turn all night and am constantly crossing/uncrossing my legs during the day. Then I have to actually get up and shake my legs out.
Have you had your labs drawns lately?

magnesium? not oxide (unless you want to poop) You can't get too much of it, no way. Magnesium Citrate - pills - not the colon prep.
CALTRATE? Is that a typo? Or Citracal? How many mg? How much D? How much B12, iron, zinc, protein?

P.S. My year + long absence has NOTHING to do with my WLS, or my type of WLS. See my profile.
As everyone stated it can be
- minerals deficiency: calcium, magnesium, boron, potasium
- low Vit D (need D3)
