What a horrid day! I ate too much, I know I did...I hope I can stop tonight...no snack for me...just tea or water..

List for the day:

5:00 am 10 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss
6:00 am 1/3 cup quick oatmeal, 1/4 tvp fine granule, 1 cup plain soy milk, 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
7:00 am 24 oz Drink Mix, Pink Lemonade
8:00 am 1 oz mozzarella cheese stick, 1 pc turkey deli meat
8:45 am 12 oz V-8 Juice
10:15 am 1/2 salad: 1 can tuna, 1 cup lettuce, 1 medium tomato, 1 oz raspberry salad dressing
11:10 am 1 package baked Pringle Stix
11:30 am the rest of that tuna salad
12:15 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, Tangerine Caffeinated
1:50 pm 1 hard boiled egg, 1 small nectarine
2:30 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, Strawberry
3:30 pm 4 oz Dannon Light n Fit, 1/4 cup fine granule tvp
4:15 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, Pink Lemonade

6:00 pm 1 tamale with meat, 1/2 cup tvp and a serving of chili with no beans and some jack cheese...all estimated but probably OVER estimated.

Totals for the day:

Calories: 1576
Fat: 44.8
Carbs: 145.6
Protein: 154.9

I guess if I over do it on protein, it's a good thing...The fat is so low..That's good, maybe..

Hey Dawn,
I had a pretty good day. I slept in, got up cooked dinner and did a little cleaning.  Work has been  a slow day but it's almost over.

My good eats..

B: 2 scrambled eggs & 2  turkey sausage patties

S: South Beach Diet Protein cereal bar

L:  Baked chicken leg quarter w/ light bbq sauce & 1/2 an ear of corn on the cob

S: String cheese & Turkey pepperoni

D: Baked turkey, 1/2 cup steamed cabbage, 1/4 cup of rice, few sweet potato slices baked in cinnamon, splenda and spray butter.

S: 4 strawberries & 100 calorie pack of almonds

For some reason, I want something sweet. I'll either have SF jello or a sugar free popsicle before I go to bed.

Your list, looks really good. I don't have nearly as much control as you do right now..It's the crud going on at work, I know..When things are really out of kilter at work, I get so angry with politics as usual..sigh..Lets just say that the feds do not have the market cornered on irresponsible spending.

I said the same thing to hubby tonight.  He said you always say that and he's right I always feel like I've eaten too much.  I'm struggling trying to eat more too maintain and not feel like I'm being "bad".  I was craving carbs today and seem to have eaten more of them than usual.

B-1 slice light toast with cheese
B2 @ work- greek yogurt with 1/2c kashi
S-Quaker mini rice cakes
L-1/2 whole grain wrap with ham, turkey bacon
S-pluot/pretzels
S-PB crackers
D-Chicken,rice and green beans
S-banana sand

I feel like I spent the day grazing!  Calories are still ok, even with all I ate.

I firmly believe that if you are in touch with your body and it's asking for something, like carbs...you should let it have them within reason...I mean if my gut says it wants a donut...I'm not listening. But a couple whole grain crackers? Some pretzels? I just adjust for it later..

But that's not to say I don't feel like I've done something BAD...I don't know what that is. I'm trying to balance my carbs too. I've increased the good carbs, stayed away from white carbs and sugar so...I think, in that sense, I'm doing good. I do have my days though...especially when the stress is cranked up. Yesterday was bad because my usual, post surgery, reaction to stress is to not eat. Yesterday, I was shoveling stuff into my mouth..Like I was eating my stress, because I really can't yell and scream at work (although I do some of that too)...

It's a work in progress for me and for all of us..I can only work on me.

You're doing pretty well too! Your list looks good. The calorie number is really good for you...Admittedly the protein was probably not as big as the carbs but...if you hit your mark, you did good.

had a little sliver of cake and thought to god I was going to die......that was about 11:00 am. And then nothing the rest of the day. Went to bed before dark. Never want cake again....ugh...

Yeah, sugar will be the death of me, I'm sure...You can substitute sugar free stuff for that and not get sick. TastyKake has an awesome substitute for hostess cupcakes with the creme filling...I had a package of those last night. shouldn't have but was angry and needed the "sugar" even the sugar free sugar is better than nothing when I'm stressed.

Now, you knew that cake was gonna make you sick...Did you do that on purpose? I'm just sayin...LOL.

Dawn, guess you already know stress can do funny (not) things to your head and the surgery only fixed the WHAT we can eat not the WHY...Today will be a better day ...

Yeah, normally in the past three years when I got stressed my mouth just completely shut and I didn't and wouldn't eat anything at all...now that's dangerous! But this last one, I was SO angry...so pissy...that I was afraid to NOT eat but afraid to OVER eat...I swear, i don't know WHAT to do now..LOL.

You did awesome...just about enough water and more than enough protein...Good carbs number. I don't see any bad carbs at all on the list...maybe a smidgen but that's still acceptable..You're working hard on that and it shows!
