Accountability - Thursday
xanax is not suppose to be used more than 3 months. And I have took them for 3 years now. I admit it I am a addict. I don't know if I could stop it I wanted to. I sleep so good when I take one at bedtime. If not I can go months and months without sleep. It is part of being anorexic. Lot of **** goes on with anorexia. My freaking fingernails are falling off. I got baby hair growing in places I didn't think was possible. Got yellow skin. Oh **** I need to stop. I am making myself sound ugly. lol. I think I am one hot chick to be 44 years old. Will be 45 August 18th. Have a blessed day.

Hello to All
Well, Thursday's food was SUPPOSED to be better than Wednesday's - it was UNTIL, late night grocery shopping...Was doing good for the day, then BLAM, finished it all off with 2, count `em, 2 full sugar cookies, loaded with white carbs of the 2 worst varieties...I'm killing my control by making the choice and eating it before I stop to really think it thru, then spend the next 10 minutes flaming myself for being stupid, its a vicious cycle and I' m not doing good at breaking it...We are traveling again this weekend, so don't feel realistically I can do any major adjustments this weekend, but am considering a protein only diet next week to try and break the pattern...
Dawn, I was reading your reply to Cajun Girl about how fast those "little" carb numbers add up and thinking - SO TRUE...When I was in my 1st year post op I never tracked so I don't know really how much cals/fat/carbs/protein I ate, but I'm thinking surely it was really low...I read many posts from newbies that say they keep carbs under 30 a day and I'm thinking, WOW to do that I would have to basically give up alot that I eat now, just the carbs in my lattes and daily coffee ( with mixin's) would exceed 30 total - even my homeblend protein shakes have over 10 carbs each...I'm a little frustrated thinking about all this, know I want to control food choices better, also know that it takes longer to lose at this far out and don't know that I could follow a prolonged program that did not include the things I just mentioned...
B - choc & banana protein shake
S - coffee with carb countdown
S - 1/2 serv no-bake jello cheesecake ( job stress
)
L - turkey breast, muenster & avocado melt with artichoke-garlic salsa on top
S - 4 almonds and 3 croutons
D - steak tips with sauteed peppers and onions and 1/2 cup green beans & bacon
S - sugar cookie, lemon cookie ( just being stupid )
Water/ Crystal lite 104 oz Cals - 1231 Fat - 54 NetCarbs - 79 Protein - 93

In order to have less than 30 grams of carbs a day, you have to eat meat all the time and nothing else or protein shakes...and even protein shakes have carbs. The one I have has just as many carbs as protein (grams) and so I get large carb numbers even when I go 40% protein...
But newbies aren't healthy. They get ketosis, they are in starvation mode...It's early out and you drop weight QUICK...but that's not necessarilly something you can keep up for years and years. You do need at least some good carbs or you'll have such bad constipation it will cause other problems. The trick is moderation in all of it. And good carbs. HIGH fiber carbs..
When I "do" bread, I eat good quality 100% whole wheat bread. Not the brown colored stuff that's basically white bread colored brown (LOL...like that fools anyone!)
I try really hard to keep my semi-bad carbs to late in the day. They help me sleep. My semi-bad carb of choice is popcorn...kettle corn popcorn in single servings. My beloved garlic popcorn will probably be gone as of late friday night...LOL.
You're still doing awesome..When that carb number is lower than the protein and you're getting 100 grams of protein (and 93 is damn close!) You're doing good...and you get low calories too. A sugar cookie? One silly sugar cookie at the end of the day? Provided you don't go after them next morning..I say you get an A+ anyway. Don't beat yourself up.
Keep up the good work. You're moving in the right direction...See ya.
