Accountability - Tuesday

What a day! I wanted so much to concentrate on my work but that neighbor's cat was bugging me. The vet told us they need to transport the cat to another facility...Never told us there was more money involved! dh is completely out of money until next Tuesday and had to clean out his checking account to pick up the cat. Then at the new facility, they want another $650 for THAT place..So there is no way we can afford another $600 after paying $372. Even another $300 for the estimate at the new place. So, I told him to take the cat home. If she is strong enough, what they've done so far will bring her out of it...if not, her owner will be home tomorrow and he can deal with it. I KNEW there was a reason why I don't like that local Vet..I take my animals to one closer to my work.

The good thing was, I was too busy at work to snack. Retirement luncheon to decorate for and serve up...all the work left on my desk. You would think one day isn't that much but I'll be paying for it for the whole week! Trouble is...not enough water.

Damage for the day:
5:30 am 10 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss

6:00 am 1 cup plain soy milk, 1/4 cup fine granule tvp, 1/2 cup apple sauce, 1/3 cup quick oats

7:00 am 24 oz Drink Mix, Strawberry

8:45 am 1 oz mozzarella cheese stick, 1 pc turkey breast deli meat, 1 medium nectarine

10:30 am 24 oz Drink Mix, Fruit Punch

12:30 pm 1 cup salad greens, 1/2 cup TVP large granules w/taco spices, 1/2 oz cheddar cheese, salsa, salad dressing, 1 cup raw melon, 3 tortilla chips

2:00 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, SoBe Living Way, Strawberry Banana

3:15 pm 1 hard boiled egg

4:00 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, Orange Caffeinated

6:30 pm 2 taco salads as above.

7:00 pm 2 cups garlic kettlecorn

Now I didn't get a margarita...I did want one, until I saw that bag of garlic popcorn on the counter....MAN those carbs call to me. Now I have dragon breath from hell! LOL. But it was worth it.

Yeah, I had an extensive talk with him last night about nine o'clock. He and we agreed that we'll just let nature take it's course. She doesn't seem to be too uncomfortable. My issue is that I would rather be at home or at least with loved ones if I'M gonna die...He's still not home and we kept the cat here. Last night I just couldn't sleep for thinking of all my relatives that died in a hospital alone...just sucks. When we took our cat to be put to sleep, we stayed with him and held him..It was hard for me but I didn't matter at that point. It was all about him...[cries]

Your list looks really good...maybe carby alittle. Have you tried adding protein to your oatmeal? Ooo. I like the tuna salad with kidney beans..That would be much better than pasta. You got me thinking on that! I have ALL that stuff in my pantry right now..LOL.

All in all you did have a good day. You use up all those carbs with the exercise you usally do..Keep it up. See ya.

Hi Dawn, I haven't posted here FOREVER.  I haven't logged my food and yep you guessed it REGAIN.  I am on a high protein (mostly shakes) low carb program for a couple of days (yesterday was day 2) to reign in the carb monster; and amazingly so ditch the carbs and the hunger subsides.

Here is my Tuesday, I haven't weighed since Monday morning, I want to focus on my intake and not the scale.  I am itching to see if I see progress though, haha.

Isn't that amazing? Forget the carbs and you can really cut what you crave down! I only added the carbs to GAIN weight and I was so nervous about doing that, it was hard...

Great list. And the numbers are AMAZING...You did get enough water with all that protein? High protein basically requires enough water to keep your kidneys healthy. I usually over do it because I love my coffee/caffeine and that's a dieretic, I've heard..I shorted on the water during the day but had another half container of water for a bedtime "snack" Tuesday.

Keep up the good work..See ya!

Dawn,

There is serious kitty drama going on at your house, I'm sorry, you've had alot of stressors going on lately...Wanted to tell you how much I admire how well you've been dealing food into all the other "stuff" that is happening in your life...Just wanted to send out a little appreciation for all you do to help others...

Still working on keeping my attitude in line, been thinking alot about how to get myself happy with the success I've achieved...Think being accountable, just following the program of protein 1st and simple carbs least ( if at all ), + just saying NO to grazing will work to help me be satisfied...Have been vering off the road for a while and hitting the sound bumps on the side of the road, so far have been able to keep pulling back into the roadway, but really want to make it a TRUE lifestyle change so I don't have to think or try so hard to keep it on the road...You'd think at 4 years out and maintaining that I would have this all worked out, BUT its not, turns out ( no pun intended ) this is NOT easy ( contrary to what many non post-ops think )...

Tuesdays food...

B - strawberry / banana protein shake

S - coffee with choc carb countdown

S - 2 thin slices ham wrapped around 2 lf mozz sticks

S - coffee with choc carb countdown

I was thinking about how things should be or would be when I'm further out...Will I always have to journal and watch each morsel that goes into my mouth? Will I constantly be on a diet an have to watch all that stuff? Probably. Is it worth it? HELL YEAH. When I look down at my wedding rings and think, I'll never have to have them re-sized bigger again. No more having several size "ranges" in the closet...I like that..so I think I'll stay right here, safely on the road...even with a couple of trips to the barrow pits...I think it's well worth pulling on that wheel to get me "straight" and on the road again.

Great numbers today. I'm thinking tuna salad tomorrow with kidney beans and artichoke hearts with avocado now...mmm (sorry, I get so much from these lists it still amazes me)

See ya!

Better late than never, right??
Work was slow yesterday and I totally forgot to post my menu. I checked fitday twice to make changes throughout my day but forgot to post. When I got home, I took a shower and passed out.

Tuesday's Food..

B: 1/2 a bottle of muscle milk.. 1st time trying this and didn't like it. Too sweet and thick

2nd attempt at breakfast: 1 boiled egg & 3 strips of turkey bacon

Snack: South Beach diet protein cereal bar

Lunch: Smart Ones frozen dinner

Snack: Handful of cherries & WW Yogurt

Dinner: 1 baked chicken thigh w/ lite bbq sauce & garden salad w/ croutons and light itilan

Snack: 1 slice of ham & 1 slice of cheese, rolled up.

My totals are low because I had plans of eating a leg and thigh for dinner but got full for some reason. Overall, it was a good eating day for me.

You're right...better late than never. Although. When I'm running late for church, I'd rather just not go at all than come in late...Just a freaky thing about me, I guess.

You did really good..I can't do vanilla soy milk because it's too sweet. I know exactly what you mean. Plain soy milk is okay, mixed into something like a shake or in my oatmeal...but I don't just drink it either...can't do that. I miss my glass of milk!

Keep up the good work. see ya.
