Always on the money on calories and protein. You do so good! Good job..I'm so going to look for those reduced sugar brownies...yum.

Keep up the good work. Thanks for the well wishes on the fasting...I'm stuffed right now but if I wake up in the middle of the night, it's going to be miserable! LOL. See ya tomorrow.

What lab do you have to fast for that long? I had a busy day up to Seattle for my plastics consult. We have decided on the hernia repair from under my boobs to below my belly button;ouch! and an extended abdominoplasty. I will get a call soon once the two coordinators find a day that both surgeons are available. went shopping after and bough two new exercise pants and three tops.
B-none
L-1/2 burger at the Ram but only 1/4 of the bun, I did not eat any of the onion rings and 0ne big shrimp
S-1/2 cupcake; wanted the whole thing it was good!
S-1 piece of cocolate
D-low carb tortilla pizza
S-probably the rest of the raspberries with reddi whip
need more water and am playing catch up with vits and stuff since left house and forgot protein drink and iron. No exercise except hours of shopping! Enjoyed my day off but back to the grind tomorrow!

I have a list of labs as long as my arm starting with CBC (complete blood count). If it's anything like last year, it's 11 vials and just the blood loss alone makes me whoozy...LOL. Not really but I complain alot if they make me wait fasting for 12 hours. I'm suppose to fast AT LEAST 12 hours. 12 - 14 hours is what the paperwork says...hate it.

Looks good on the food. I suppose the cupcake was like comfort food...I know if I go to the doctors for stuff like talking about surgery...i need comfort, for sure..

Will you be out of work for a long time after your surgery? How about exercise and limitations? I bet you'll get so tired of not running and/or zumba that it drives you crazy...No housework would drive me completely to drink!

I will be off work for at least three weeks. I will miss my exercise, I think thatis why I went crazy buying exercise clothes today! I am going to load up on DVD's. I want to catch back up on the series Lost; cuz now i am lost! I will turn a blind eye to the dirt or keep the teenager coming back to clean. She did a pretty good job not a professional job but for $10 an hour I am satisfied. I think next time I will clean with her and show her how I like things done, she is a very sweet girl.
The cupcake was so good and it was comfort food! It was hard to eat just half but glad I did because i was fairly naseated after half and the whole thing would of done me in and I had more shopping to do.
I always think I will need a transfusion after my yearly labs and the co pay is ridiculous; it is how I meet my deductuble every year!

Today was a mixed up day... I worked last night 12 hour graveyard shift, so I slept from 8am until 11am.  When I am on night shift, my eating becomes mixed up.

2 cups coffee w/SF vanilla creamer

1 handfull of cheerios without milk

1/2 cup pasta with spaghetti sauce

1/2 corn muffin

1 cup coffee w/creamer

1 very small (a few bites) cheese pizza

1 tablespoon vanilla icecream

1 bowl oatmeal (quaker weight control )

I have no rhyme or reason to my eating. I really need to get a control of my meals.
Tomarrow is another day..... thank God!!!

OUCH! The first thing that comes jumping off the screen at me is that you had practically NO protein at all for Monday...You need to fix that right away or you'll be really hurting.  But the good thing (if it's a good thing at all) is that you ate really, next to nothing all day with the amounts..The stuff wasn't good but you ate tiny bits of it...Probably the only reason you can function on 12 hour shifts! Wow...I'm really concerned for you.

Do you "do" protein shakes at all? Do you have protein shakes available or would you supplement with protein if you could? I mean the oatmeal is good but if you add TVP or protein to it before cooking, it's much better and counter acts the carbs..The cheese on the pizza is good, the crust is really not. Spaghetti sauce is good if it's put on something other than white pasta, like spaghetti squa****hink there is a low carb, high fiber pasta. I haven't tried it.

Some good high protein snacks are mozzarella cheese sticks wrapped with turkey breast deli meat. a hard boiled egg. Even fresh fruit isn't bad if it's paired with a piece of protein.

How are your vitamins and labs? Are you maintaining or gaining or losing weight?

YOu're right, tomorrow is a do-over day...There is always room for improvement. Maybe we can get your jouney jumping!

I know my eating has really become horrible.  I was maintaining, but now I am slowly gaining weight. I have gained about 10lbs back, and I never got to my goal weight. I do not eat a large amount of food, but I do eat a bite here and a bite there and most of that is "junk" or carbs. Over all, I probably eat many more calories than I realise. I tried to drink a protein coffee just a day ago (the first in a long time) and my tummy did not like it.... I got nausiated. ??   Come to think of it... the only protein I have had today is a bowl of oatmeal (7g). (it is past noon already) I have had 1/2 banana and a 1/2 plum and that is all so far today.  I dont know when or where I went wrong, but it is time to get my head out of the clouds and get back to the basics of bariatric eating.....
Thank you!!!1
Cath

Yeah, white carbs are bad because they really cause you to want more of them...especially stuff like grain carbs. Fruits and veggies, not as much but oatmeal, bread, pasta, rice...all those things make me want a donut. LOL. I can tolerate 100% whole wheat bread with all the twigs and nuts in it now but early out bread was just not an option. And they're way too easy to eat.

I read just this morning (while waiting for my labs) that protein actually burns more calories than carbs, calorie for calories...The system takes more energy to burn the calories from protein than from carbs. interesting! that and cold water too.

You might find some Textured Vegetable Protein and add that to your oatmeal. it has a sort of nutty texture and flavor and you can put it on yogurt or sugar free pudding..like putting nuts on top of your ice cream. the fine grain stuff is 22 grams of protein in a 1/4 cup measure.

But if you don't eat your protein, the body will suck the protein from your muscles to function and the heart is a muscle...not a good thing.

I don't especially like protein coffee unless it's ice coffee and that works for me. Chocolate protein powder, ice coffee, alittle creamer...yummy stuff! I know you can do protein in coffee but the soy is the only one (for me) that doesn't chunk up...chunking is nasty. and all proteins are not alike so your tummy may just not like whey protein or something.

Keep after it...concentrate on the protein in every snack and meal first and you'll be back on track in NO time!
