Well, that's kicked the middle of the week in the head...The hump is over. Not bad.

List for the day:

5:00 am 10 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss
6:15 am 1/3 cup instant oatmeal,  1 cup soy milk, 1/4 cup fine granule TVP, 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce, cinnamon, splenda and butter buds
7:00 am 24 oz Drink Mix, Strawberry
8:30 am 12 oz Drink Mix, Berry Lemonade
10:00 am 1 oz mozzarella cheese stick, 1 pc roasted turkey breast deli meat
11:00 am 12 oz Drink Mix, Berry Lemonade

12:00 lunch: 4 oz grilled chicken breast sandwich on lettuce with mayo and tomatoes
1:30 pm 12 oz Drink Mix, Berry Lemonade
2:00 pm  imitation crab meat sandwich like yesterday. 4 oz crab meat, 1 oz lite ranch, 2 slices whole wheat (no cheese today)

2:30 pm 12 oz Drink Mix, Berry Lemonade

4:00 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, Grapefruit Caffeinated

6:00 pm 4 oz chicken thigh, 1/4 cup canned corn, 1/4 cup mashed potato from dry

Totals for the day:
Calories: 1690
Fat: 65.4
Carbs: 128.4
Protein: 138.9

Now, admittedly the bread, even though it's whole grain, wasn't all that great but I'm searching for a cracker substitute for things. Nothing along the lines of fruit or veggies. I could have done much better!  I like the imitation crab meat but it's low in protein for me.

How did you do?

Good evening Ladies.  I need to get my labs checked. I am feeling very tired/low on energy lately!
My 8 hour work day felt like 20 hours today!

My good eats..

B: Atkins shake RTD shake & 3 strips of turkey bacon

S: Beef jerky

L: Smart Ones frozen dinner & Carb/sugar control yogurt

S: Raw baby carrots & Celery sticks w/ 2 tbsp. of light ranch

D: South Beach diet buffalo chicken pizza

S: 100 calorie pack of almonds & 2 big strawberries

I'm satisfied with my totals.  I had plans to wake up this morning and make pasta but I got lazy and just grabbed frozen dinners instead.

Are you getting enough B-12? I think that stuff is like speed for me..LOL. If I don't get my B12, I'm a snail. Your list looks really good so it's not lack of protein..

When I was about 3 months out I'd run out of sublingual 250m B-12 and was taking 2500 B-12..Didn't think much about it but I was really feeling hyper. The nurse at the surgeon's office asked and I showed her the bottle. She laughed at me and said "No wonder you're bouncing off the walls!"

So I still have that bottle. When I feel run down for no apparent reason, I pop one of those under my tongue and I'm good all day. LOL. Of course, no napping on those things...

I'm not sure when I'm getting my labs checked..I absolutely hate fasting so it's a big hassle for me. Not that I can't fast. I just hate it. I eat SO often! I have my script for it, just have to figure out WHEN...And then get the results and plot it next to the last three times on my spread sheet. OCD.

I eat like a horse compared to everyone else; probably why I am not at goal! I took the day off and am so glad I did. I spent most of the day catching up with a friend. We went for a hike; 30 minutes of straight up! Going down was a bit tricky, I was so afraid of slipping. We went to lunch and had the best pizza(hmmm, pizza, not at goal, hmmm)
B-Protein drink w soy milk
S-meat and cheese,wheat crackers
L-pizza
S-kashi granola bar, string cheese
D-scrambled eggs, bacon, low carb toast w sf jelly
S-skinny cow
an hour of hiking, a half hour run, all my water, iron,etc....I can't wait for the weekend!!!!!

Yeah, ME TOO! I used to really stress about not keeping my calories at 1200 or so...It really bothered me. It isn't the big things that will stay with you if you make changes. Think about those radical diets that work. Yeah, you turn your world upside down and eat nothing but grapefruit for a month. You'll lose weight but you can't do that forever! Just change one tiny little thing and over time, it makes a giant difference.

You do really good. It's possible that the amount of carbs might be a problem and if you just switch to some good carbs instead of bad carbs it might work to shift the direction. But I think youre level of workout, you're probably just muscle and it's not going to go away. And with workouts, you NEED those carbs.

I haven't done any activity at all. Too hot to go out shopping on my lunch and too hot to walk around to deliver mail...I haven't even worked in the yard moving rocks. Yesterday when the scale said 130...it bummed me out. But then I think I'm doing good on my calories and they STILL are at 1600+ at the end of the day.

We all just do what we can and that's all that we can do. And we just have to keep trying. See ya.

I don't think you eat any more than Dawn and I eat. I feel like I eat all day with 6 small meals.  I'd probably eat more calories if I exercised! With an hour of hiking and a run, you deserve to eat a little more.

Hey, hey ...

I feel like I'm flogging a dead horse here, cuz, I keep saying this; but, MAN, I've been off white carbs and simple sugars for almost 2 weeks and STILL have not kicked the sugar cravings, worst times are late afternoon and after dinner, keeping saying no and reaching for protein as a substitute to try and quell the craving, but so far it is not working well, I hope the cravings go away SOON...Wondering if I have to ditch the natural sugars in fruit and such to completely loose the want for sugary tasting foods?!?

Wednesdays Food:

B - coffee & pb protein shake

S - coffee with carb countdown

S - hb egg, 1oz slice gouda and 5 thin slice pre-cooked bacon ( heat and re-crisp in the micro)

L - 4 oz grilled chicken breast, 1/2c homemade gr beans and ham, 1 slice grilled pineapple

S - 8 expresso  beans

S - 1 meatball & 1oz mozz

D - pb and banana protein shake

Water / crystal lite - 104 oz                        Cals - 1108     Fat - 48     NCarbs - 47     Protein - 120

Dawn, just wondering I notice you mix up a number of things with your breakfast oatmeal - Do you mix all the stuff listed together into one bowl or is it separate parts of a whole meal concept?

Bye for now...

White carbs and sugar are really tough to give up...REALLY tough. Like heroine, I've got to figure or alcohol. It's not so simple to give them up "cold turkey". Really tough. That's why sometimes the WLS on it's own, doesn't always guarantee that you'll keep the weight off. And if you introduce them back in, it starts all over again. The sugar free stuff is one thing because I can stop that stuff, I have to think. I know for a fact that if my husband makes his chocolate chip cookies, I can't stop. I will eat the whole batch myself...and I'll make myself sick. I know that at night is my worst time. I'll eat up anything that isn't nailed down and I still struggle with that. So one or two sugar free chocolate and the water or warm tea after that. It helps if it's chocolate flavored or at least tastes like something evil...I have lipton's chocolate chai tea sometimes. It tastes so decedent that it has to be "bad" so my brain is fooled. I have to keep really busy. Sitting watching television is another trigger. funky old movies will make me want to eat something bad.

You may have to ditch the natural sugars for a little while to kick the habit. And the good carbs too. It's sort of a detox effec****er (and plenty of it, flavored of course) and protein alone for a week or so. The only carbs you might be able to handle for a while would be raw veggies like celery and carrots...gad, that sounds horrible!

The oatmeal/tvp/soy milk is all mixed together and then microwaved, one minute at a time 2 and a half to three minutes, stirring in between. The shake set up is all put in the blender and blended (after the oatmeal is ground up in the coffee/spice grinder)..The TVP has to be re-constituted or it would be crunchy, I guess.
