Accountability - Monday

Not the Same Dawn

Today had it's ups and downs. Started out down and the darnedest thing picked me up. Even if all you do is lurk and journal on your own, this journaling and posting is necessary for me...I'm accountable to you folks and that's why I do it. I set myself up to be accountable first. Then I cheer everyone else on in their journey...everyone can be headed a different direction so I try and find what way you are going so I can encourage you in your journey...Some are seriously trying to gain and some are trying to lose..I'm struggling to maintain and stay in one spot...It sounds alot easier than it is because I'm not the same as everyone else. We're all special.

List for the day:

5:30 am 10 oz coffee w/NSA Swiss Miss
6:30 am 1/3 cup instant oatmeal, 1/4 cup tvp fine granules,  1 cup soy milk, 1 T sugar free caramel syrup topping (actually, couldn't eat but half of this) bad idea anyway cuz the sugar alcohols caused noxious gas while I was at work...no more of THAT!
7:00 am 24 oz Drink Mix, Berry Lemonade
8:30 am the other half of the breakfast I couldn't eat at home. someone burned the microwave so it wasn't heated up. blah.
9:30 am 24 oz Drink Mix, Grapefruit Caffeinated
11:30 am 1 medium apple
12:30 pm 12 oz Drink Mix, SoBe Living Way, Tropical
1:20 pm 1 chicken patty (TJ Chicken Patty w/4 cheese, spinach and artichoke) 1/4 cup rice with cooked veggies from last night
2:10 pm 12 oz Drink Mix, SoBe Living Way, Tropical (very sleepy from the rice!)
3:10 pm 1 oz mozzarella cheese stick, 1 pc roasted turkey breast deli meat
3:45 pm 1 slice raisin bread toast no crust
4:15 pm 24 oz Drink Mix, Orange Caffeinated

6:00 pm 3 oz pork chop, grilled and another serving of that rice from the other night..about the same amount as I had for late afternoon lunch. about 1/4 cup.

I'm planning another hit on that microwave protein cup cake. I got my shipment from netrition so you'll be seeing a sugar free hostess cupcake (the tastykake version!) I'm so excited but I may have to wait till tomorrow to try them...

Totals for the day (including the protein cup cake):

Calories: 1418
Fat: 49.6
Carbs: 136.2
Protein: 115.4

How did you do? Frustrating day? Me too...I can totally understand.

Be good to yourself. You're all you got, you know...

Kind of a yuck day at work. Nothing but complaints about this that and the other. I dropped off my daughter at daycamp, rushed back to work and hurried to get everything done, hurried back to pick her up and then back to work. had her swim bag packed, my gym bag packed and then we both kind of crashed. Morgan was tired and begged not to go to swim team and i felt very tired and did not feel like a run or even zumba. Kicking myself now but I am going to let it go and move on. Not the best choices but tomorrow is another day!
B-scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, 1 slice low carb toast
S-kashi trail mix bar
L low carb wrap and black bean soup
S-PBJ-thought I was going to run, I would not have ate it otherwise
D-last of my cabbage casserole
S-homemade sweet potato fries- last of my sweet potatoes and I will not buy any more for awhile
Throughout the day grazing I had a few dots, few mini oatmeal cookies and a handful of fritos-GRAZING!!!! I am going to detox tomorrow, will only have protein and veggies and lots of water!

You can give yourself a day off. Don't beat yourself up over a day off...Be kind to yourself.

Still, all in all, you didn't do too bad. Good choices even with the snacks and PBJ...Since you didn't "use" the PBJ, that called to more snacks like the dots and oatmeal cookies...or it was the other way around. Either way, you're carbed and ready for tomorrow.

Tomorrow is a do-over day...Keep up the good work. See ya

I know EXACTLY how that feels! I'm menopausal and irregular in my cycles..ONe morning I woke up and felt as if I could chew nails...I was ticked at everything and anything...Felt like growling at everyone. On top of that I wanted chocolate and to shove all sorts of carbs in my mouth all day. It was a snack fest for several hours...Then I realized, period time and it hit light a mack truck!

You did good even in a bad mood. Usual numbers and great list...Keep up the good work...See ya.

Hello, on track for another good day ( I hope )

Monday was crazy swamped at my office and we are short staffed again today, so who know how it will go...These types of days really open the door for me to graze, definately a stress eater, so I feel good that I did not fall into the tempation yesterday, even though the voice was calling regularly...Today I brought a protein bar to use against other tempations...

Dawn, I notice you eat crustless bread, do you not like the crust or does the crust have a greater concentration of carbs or is it just a way to eat less of the bread?...Also, my Walmart carries the SF Tastykake's, have you checked there for them - would save you on shipping costs...

Monday's food:

B - choc and banana protein shake

S - coffee with carb countdown

S - protein coffee

L - 4 oz lf cottage cheese swirled with 1 tbsp sf strawberry jelly and topped with 1/4c tvp (Mmmm,
       crunchy )

S - 1/2 serving whole cashews, 3 choc covered espresso beans

D - 4 oz honey turkey breast stacked with 1 slice of gouda and 1/2 a sliced avocado, 2 shoe
string frenchfries ( had to taste them to make sure they were crispy enough  ) and 5 sf
        bread-n-butter pickle chips

Water / crystal lite  98 oz                       Cals: 1041     Fat: 46     NetCarbs: 42     Protein: 103

Good day but still struggling with myself to want a taste of something sweet - keep saying no but its obvious to me I'm still trying to cleanse the carb monster cuz I know that was causes the sweet cravings...

Later...

I occasionally (well, probably more than occasionally) allow myself something sugar free. I have to keep it sugar free because a couple of things...if I have too much, I get diahrea (and I know that so it's a punshment for going over) and I have to do it late in the day (because it causes gas and it's embarrassing at work or in public...) so with all the rules for sugar free stuff, I can do it occasionally..It sure makes it nice when you have all those rules that have consequences...it keeps me in line.

Get the good stuff like hershey's sugar free or even york peppermint patties...small packages of individual wrapped candies...a single serving is like four pieces (of russell stover easter eggs) and so one piece isn't going to add too many calories but it sure feels like heaven OCCASIONALLY...

You did really good with the cottage cheese and the sugar free jam...That probably helped...Just stay away from the stuff you can't say no to and the longer you can say no the easier it is to say no and mean it. the white carbs are evil.. the other (good ones) carbs are probably necessary..

Thanks Dawn, appreciate the suggestion...l actually have a full complement of VERY good quality SF chocolates at the house ( I mean the $15 a lb stuff ) BUT, I notice the carb numbers for them is still really high, even for just one and I have a hard time with just one - so for now I'm avoiding the SF candy too...Once I get back into my goal range I will weigh the option of having some now and then...

Oh yeah, and it give me STANKY gas too, but not much help in the laxative area, doesn't seem like much really helps to me to "go"...

See ya tomorrow...
