Have you noticed that Kashi has gone sweet? I used to go to Sam's and get a big box of 3 kinds of bars (peanut butter, trail mix and honey almond flax). They were just sweet enough to be good, and now they're selling pumpkin pie and all sweet kinds. I would imagine most of you are like me, sugar's like Satan and you want to run from it as much as possible. I wish Fiber One bars weren't so sweet too. What's a good kind to keep in your pocketbook? I'm hypo since my weight loss and I have to keep something to keep me from hitting the floor when I'm late for a feeding.

I haven't noticed Kashi so much...but can't really eat it much anyway. It feels like so much twigs and sticks in my mouth...

I do run from sugar as much as humanly possible. I have also made my own protein bars, although, baking this time of year is...no way. I bought some protein brownies from Chef Jay (netrition.com) and they have them at Vitamin Shoppe too, I've heard. But the sugar alcohols cause noxious gas so I can't do that if I'm going into a meeting. I'll hit the beef jerky or something like that instead.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

summer - i use Trio bars.  mostly nuts with some dried fruits . natural. I got them in Costco. Even preop  - no surgery people like them. Not to much protein and some sugar, but sugars are natural - and just enough to make them taste OK (less than 10 gr per bar)

In colder months or when at work of home - I like the Protein Crunch bars. They look and taste like a very good wafer bars.  Got them in Vit shoppe, but I think there are more places that offer them.
 
Another chocolate bar - I like the Atkins Chocolate peanut Butter bar. 18 gr protein, 10 gr fiber, 1g sugar, 12 gr fat.  Great meal replacement for me on the go or when nothing else taste OK. taste a bit like a Reese PB cups. (no sugar alcohols). 

I noticed that bars higher in fat than sugar keep my BS level in better check.
