Today I decided that I needed an extra day to get over the sore throat I had yesterday morning. I was so tired Sunday night from all the stuff we did that I just figured I needed an extra day off. So I slept in (alittle, not much) but got bored with doing nothing and decided on several projects to work on. I made curtains and did sewing that I've been putting off for YEARS. Between that and laundry and watching the food network...and standard every day cleaning...I didn't rest much but I sure got alot accomplished and planned..

B: oatmeal, tvp, soy milk, strawberries

S: 1 oz mozzarella stick wrapped w/ 1 pc roasted turkey deli meat

L: Salmon patty grilled and on top of a salad bass with Asian dressing

S: No afternoon snack..short on water too. Only had three bottles all day

D: T-Bone steak (4 oz) and 1/2 cup green beans..

Dessert: Single Serving Microwave popcorn and 1 T Reduced Fat Peanut Butter

Totals for the day:

Calories: 1520
Fat: 71.0
Carbs: 98.6
Protein: 129.2

Protein was 35%, Carbs were 23%...I sure could use more carbs...Oh well

Tomorrow, back to work and back on schedule..

How did you do today?

Good list. I noticed that you start the day sort of slow (food wise) and ramp it up later. Good choices and great numbers. It's all about knowing what works for you. I have that noticiable gap in the afternoon where I don't eat and a huge breakfast. So long as I use those carbs in my morning, it works for me..

I'm just amazed how different strategies work for different people. Reading this thread every dayis a real eye opener!

Keep up the good work. See ya

It's funny you comment on me eating lighter for breakfast. Someone sent me a message Friday asking me why.   I work 2nd shift from 3 to midnight so my eating schedule is much later than the average person that works early in the am.  Breakfast at 12, lunch at 5 and dinner at 9:30.  I dont' like to eat a heavy breakfast and I'm not being active. Whenever I do eat a heavy breakfast, it's because I got plans in the morning to go somewhere or I'm up doing things around the house.

It just shows that I'm actually reading the list. LOL...I totally understand it now. I can relate too. When I'm busy at work, that means I can't move from my desk and I'm not "doing" any activity..so I don't eat much..Same thing, sort of.

Hey - Hey to All...

Monday's food was pretty good, scale moved up to 136 after the carb heavy weekend and has not budged back down yet... I notice I don't see an immediate affect from eating too many carbs or white sugars in my daily morning weigh-in, it always seems to take a couple of days to reflect on the scale, does anyone else see this???

On to the food :

B - pb and banana protein shake

S - coffee with carb countdown

S2 - laughing cow spread on 12 grain toast and a hb egg

L - 4 oz shredded chicken thigh topped with 1/4c shredded cheddar and artichoke garlic salsa

S - 9 expresso beans and a sf strawberry cream go-lightly

D - breakfast sausage wrapped in cheddar slices and a couple bites of belgium waffle

S - small palm of homemade trail mix & 2 dk choc covered pecans

Water / crystal lite - 135 oz                      Cals - 1291     Fat - 69     NetCarbs - 69     Protein - 97

Dawn, have you worked out your strategy to get the carbs us without going overboard on the "white" carbs?

Have a good one to all, check back later... Alesia  5'5"  136lbs

I don't know if I've worked it out or not...I just add more veggies and beans and that seems to be carbs enough..I did notice that my "skinny" jeans are too tight and cause a dreaded "muffin top" so I have to get back on that wii and do something about it or I will start gaining real weight. Right now, it's cuz I'm out of shape..I mean I work hard at house work but nothing to keep my middle trim..

My scale only goes up imediately when i have too much salt..Otherwise, I'm staying pretty much in one spot. We'll see what happens to the way the clothes fit when I get back on the wii..

Great numbers. Good list too. I did a side by side comparison of thighs vs breasts and found that there's less calories and more protein in breasts...which was interesting to me..

Keep up the good work. See ya.

Well Monday really sucked and the carbs got the better of me.  After swimming I went crazy for food!!!  I went to the store to buy a piece of cake.  I am ok so far today, time will tell.  I had a very emotional morning...so sad...disappointed...crying.  I will feel better after I swim though.

B:1/2 c egg beaters and a slice of fat free cheese
S:Broth with 2 oz chicken breast, mushrooms and red pepper
L: chicken brat and salad
S:1/4 c mozerella cheese on 10 tortilla chips (I weighed and counted)
S: 1/2 c granola and 1/2 c milk and 6 almonds
D: baked veges: asperagus, carrots, red pepper, mushrooms, green beans and a chicken brat
S: 3 " square of cake that didn't taste good so I actually pitched some.  The frosting tasted like lard....yuk

1479 calories

Today is going better but I haven't swam yet and that gets me hungry.

That is how I did today

I know exactly how you feel! I went on a fat free diet once. No fat...for months. I lost 30 pounds but that first day when I had a muffin (chocolate chip muffin from costco) it felt like I had grease on my tongue and in my mouth...Frosting tastes like lard...because it IS!

You'll be okay with today. Are you okay, though? Did something happen to upset you? That just sucks...but I've been there too. Take care! One word: Teenagers. LOL Gotta love em cuz it's illegal to kill em.

Tuesday is official Daisy-Do-Over day...It's bound to be a national holiday for me (Dawn-Do-Over-Day...) Feel better, Sweety.

I have heard people say they don't like fat anymore after a RNY.  I have been watching fat since the beginning and really never noticed it before but I really found it disgusting.  Yes!!!

Remember: Romeo and Juliette were 14 years old when they distroyed 2 families and a town.  If they were a burden from Shakespear's time I can't change them, neither can you...they'll get their's!   Daisy
