I think that's great! If you have good stuff with you, even if you're busy it works. And keeping busy helps too. I tend to over eat when I'm bored or have "nothing" to do...

Great numbers. low protein but it was a holiday! Psh! normal days ahead. Good job. Keep up the good work. See ya.

Good morning ladies:
We arrived home from High Cliff State Park and my niece's HS graduation party.  My lab met her new dog cousin, Zeus.  The 3 dogs played together all day Saturday.  They live on Lake Butt de Mort and we couldn't keep my lab out of the water.  Nothing smells better than a wet lab!  My niece is also is a diabetic so the menu was great for me.  Not really a bad weekend...of course more than you ladies eat but OK for me.  We hiked a ton...yes High Cliff means high cliffs everywhere.  My buns got quite the workout.  Spent some time in the hot tub on Monday.

B:pkt of instant oatmeal, 2 hard boiled eggs, sf yogurt, orange
L:reduced fat whole grain Triskets, 1 1/2  oz of cheese, 2oz of low fat beef summer sausage, carrot and stalk of celery
S: protein bar
D: Toco Bell's nachos grande and a taco
S: tortilla chips and low fat cheese
2 cups of milk in coffee through out the day

My husband has developed an allergy to gluten and is allergic to Splenda and I am a diabetic.  This should make for some interesting menus in the future

Is he allergic to glutten or does he have Celiac Disease? Celiac runs in my family, that's why I don't eat much bread. And I'm allergic to any tree nuts (started with walnuts, moved to pecans, almonds are the last that I can still eat, sort of) I develop a blister in the back of my throat when I eat too much wheat (bread, pasta...that sort of thing. The worst is barbeque sauce).

You might take a look at sites that have celiac diets for your husband..There is gluten in so many things!

My gastroenterologist did an EGD on him with biopsies.  The results were celiac desease from a gluten allergy.  He took communion yesterday and was cramping up.  We are looking at sites.  He is off all wheat, malt  etc.  he feels better even after just a couple of weeks.  Daisy

Celiac Disease is like an allergy because the body reacts to the allergen (glutten) in a violent manner but Celiac is a latent immune system disease, in reality, that is in your system for years and is hereditary because it runs in families. You actually have it your whole life but a shock to your system will bring it on. They were afraid, when they found out that I carry the gene, that the surgery caused it to "bloom" in me. I was having rashes and things like losing massive amounts of weight and not being able to gain any...But they tested me and said no. I still think it is yes but it's just starting on me and can get worse. Allergies can fade away but Celiac just gets worse and worse.

My aunt's came on after a car accident. My cousin came "down with it" after a car accident too. My aunt describes it as the cilia in the gut actually lay down and the digestion completely stops. When you eat something, it comes out basically "undigested". Pretty horrible stuff. Before they could identify it as a disease people died of starvation from it.

The more you stay away from glutten, the more sensitive you will be to it. Yes. Communion will send someone with Celiac to their knees...it's really bad. Just that little bit..

There are SO many things you wouldn't think have glutten in them. barbeque sauce, soy sauce, teriyaki...instant rice, malt...alot of cereals...The websites are very helpful in identifying things that have glutten in them. It was a real eye opener for me.

My husband ... is allergic to Splenda and I am a diabetic.

I have switched to Truvia and it is available in most stores in the area.

For at least a year I've been baking "real" foods and just eating an appropriate amount.  The Splenda/Truvia is for Tea, Iced Coffee, etc.

Your advice is so helpful.  I am going to look for Truvia.  For 4 days I have been off as many carbs as humanly possible.  My appitite is 0!!!  I think about your nuetral feeling and that is me..  just peace.  I still never feel like I have eaten anything.  I still see some starchy/ carby food and want to eat it.  I am trying to avoid it to get rid of the hunger and appetite which is different from head hunger and feeling empty.  thanks again for all your help.  Daisy
