I have severe psoriasis, and I am sometimes using flax seed (coffee grinder), as I understand we obsorb it better in this form.  I have been reading that some people see improvement with the oil, versus the seed.  Has anyone had any experience with this issue?  I don't want to waste my money and calories with the oil, if it will bring me NO relief.  I have started using Humira, as of last week; however, my wondering if this will get worse before it gets better?  I am terribly inflamed and I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks in advance.

I do know that it has to be ground and the whole seeds are useless.  Good luck to you.  Daisy

I too have sever psoriasis - what do you do with the flax seed once they are ground, or the oil?  Do you eat it - rub it on?????  What is Humira??

Will be interested to read anymore replies

I do grind the flax seed and use it on my cereal or yogurt.  I checked with the local health food store, and the lady (she has been there forever) said that the oil is better, as you would have to eat a great deal of ground seed, as opposed to one tablespoon a day of the actual oil.  She recommended mixing it in a juice and immediately downing the connoction.  I am going to consider this route.  Humira is an injectable medicine that helps with psoriasis and arthritis.  Most psoriasis patients will eventually get psoriatic arthritis.  The med gives both troubles a hit,  but with any drug, there are risks to be considered.  This is why I am trying to look for some alternative approaches.  Thanks for the replies.

Thanks for the info Sheron.  I think I'm going to try and get some of the oil and see how my psoriasis goes with it.  Fingers crossed for both of us for some relief!
